The exhibition reviews Redol Gallery's projects focusing on urban environments and workers, understood as speculative tools aimed at imagining a democratic city where the private and local, the public and the global, are inextricably linked like cogwheels. The touring exhibition takes as its starting point the 1972 project "Architecture Exhibition" by Tanis Pérez Pita, Daniel Zarza, and Rafael Zarza, which aimed to expose appalling housing conditions. This quest is furthered by Calabuig's own documentary, "The City is Ours (Urban Aesthetics)" (1975), which showcases several neighborhood associations in the suburbs of Madrid. The exhibition moves from the home to the street, depicting a labyrinthine design and revisiting the installation "Daily Journey" (1971), in which Calabuig disrupts the monotony of the worker's daily commute through the event of "something happening." The city's repressive ecology is echoed in exhibitions such as Images of the African American Movement (1972), which highlighted Redor's commitment to the fundamental rights of women and minorities, particularly through their focus on the structural and social segregation of the urban environment.
