A selection of works by Antonio Muñoz de Gran (1840-1924) will be on display in Room 60 of the Villanueva Wing of the Prado National Museum until January 11, 2026. De Gran is one of the most original Spanish artists of the 19th century. The ten paintings on display, five of which have been recently restored, showcase the Valencian painter's rich subject matter, technical virtuosity, and unique aesthetic vision. Adjacent displays include his 1899 acceptance speech for his induction into the Academy of San Fernando, "On the Sincerity of Art," a painting donated to the museum, and a portrait of De Gran by the sculptor Miguel Blay.
