So we stayed in Luxor for two nights at the wonderful Pyramids Luxor hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem. It was very close to all the Temples and hot air balloon ride. I would recommend this hotel to any one looking for somewhere nice to stay in Luxor. Ali moussa was so kind and best recommend

We loved staying here. Got there super early (way before check in) but they still found a way to get us a room to leave our luggage while we left for the day. They provide breakfast but they also have dinner which you can pay for literally under $6 usd. We didn’t make it to dinner but they still brought us the food to our room which was super sweet of them. Definitely recommend this place! 10/10

Great location next to the ferry on the West Bank. Old fashion decor, staff are friendly and helpful. Organised tours and weren't shy to offer suggestions. Accommodation was clean, breakfast was good. Atmosphere is relaxed.

We choose this hotel after reading all the good reviews about how good it is, and how helpful Mohammed is. Unfortunately I missed reading the review from a couple dated June 2017 about how terrible the hotel was, and dealing with Mohammed was a headache. This was what we both experienced during our stay two weeks ago. This was one of the worst places I stayed during the trip apart from the Square Boutique Hotel at Cairo. Mohammed messaged me after I had booked the hotel, to see if I needed any help and advice. I asked him to book a Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan for three nights. At the beginning he said it would be about 95 Euros, but afterwards he said it would be 140 USD, so total for three nights would be 420 US dollars. We decided to go ahead. When we arrived to the hotel on 21/1, we did not see Mohammed. We were worried whether the cruise been booked from 24-27/1. We saw him the next day, with his calculator in his hand. He worked out the accommodation fee for three nights, the cruise, the transport fee for the visits to the temples at Luxor and banana island, and he also added the cost of transportation fee from Aswan ferry port to our guest house at Aswan. We said we could find our way, but he said we might find it very difficult. He could arrange someone to pick us up from the cruise and take us to the Guest House. We just need to notify him which cabin we were staying. So another 15 USD was added for the transportation fee, which brought to a total cost of 595 USD. We asked him to put it into Egyptian pounds and initial he said 18995, then he said 18000. When it came to payment, he said there would be a charge of 3% if we paid by card. We then said we would not take the cruise . (We found out on arrival that he had not even booked the cruise for us, he did not know where the port is, the itinerary etc). He said he had to speak to the manager about the 3% charge of using card. He did exactly what he did in June 2017 to the couple, he spoke to somebody less than a minute in Arabic and said the owner agreed not to charge the 3%, the hotel would pay the 3%. The reason I wrote this review was that we messaged Mohammed which cabin we were staying, and would disembark at 8 am on 27/1. Nobody turned up to pick us up and when I rang him, he said he would arrange it now. We told him on the phone that we decided to go to the guest house ourselves, and to my surprise, he said he would refund me the 15 USD! I asked him how and he said he could liaise with Mango Guest House where we were staying at Aswan. He never refunded the 15 USD for a service we never used. I did not think he would anyway at the first place. It only costed us 5 Egyptian pound each to cross the ferry to our guest house. Dealing with Mohammed is a headache, as mirrored what the couple said, they are only after your money!

Stayed here six nights. The hotel itself is clean and well maintained, although the furniture and other accoutrements are a tiny bit basic and dated. The breakfast is sufficient, although it could be varied somewhat from day to day. Forget the references to a restaurant; other than breakfast there are no other food services on offer. I don’t know if this has always been the case but it was during my stay. The only TV was in the breakfast room, up near the ceiling, and you’d have to sit at a table and crane your neck at a 90 degree angle to watch anything. Adding one in the lobby-type room would be more conducive to TV watching. The windows, with their pyramid shapes are a cute touch, although the rooms are in desperate need of some privacy curtains, not simply for privacy but to keep the early morning sun from waking the guests. If the hotel has a glaring deficiency, it’s in the day to day operations. The management and staff try their best but they’re frequently “not ready for prime time”. It was the most disorganized operation I experienced during my four week trip. The fact that it’s a family operation probably goes a long way to explain this. It really could use its ownership on site a lot more than is currently the case. I won’t go into details but this should be ringing bells for both the management and owners. There have been mentions of how hard it is to find the hotel. To simplify: From the west bank side of the ferry, turn left and walk along the dirt path near the river (with the fence on your left). When you see the Mesala Hotel and its sign, cross the street and walk into the alley immediately to the left of the hotel. Pass a couple of convenience shops and the hotel door is down a small alleyway on the left. If in doubt, anyone in that area will be able to point you to the entrance. It’s only about a four minute walk – definitely not worth paying a taxi on the east bank to drive the roundabout route in order to cross the Nile and not worth paying a taxi on the west bank either, unless your physically challenged or overwhelmed with luggage. As previously mentioned, the hotel has no dinner service. Mesala, across the alleyway and Sunflower Restaurant , just a little up the street from Pyramids, are reliable options. Mesala has the added benefits of outstanding views of the Nile and Luxor Temple, as well as serving beer.

The property exceeded our expectations and when we come back to Luxor, this is the place that we will be staying in. If you are looking for a hotel that is comfortable, clean and conveniently located then this is the place I will recommend but if you are looking for luxury then look elsewhere. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool as well as a SPA but we didnt use it. Also, a complimentary breakfast was available at the hotel. The breakfast included eggs, Egyptian bread, yogurt, cheese, jam, butter, salad, banana, a meat item, a hot vegetarian item and coffee/tea The hotel is very conveniently located walking distance to the Nile. The staff is extremely helpful. When I realized that I had extra time, they not only accommodated the changes to our plans but also arranged another hotel where we can stay. I can go on and on about how brilliant that my stay was. The Wifi is very spotty. Signal is very weak. We did have internet so we were not relying on the Wifi anyways but something to be aware of. There were no other issues/concerns we had All in all the facilities are nice but even nicer are the people that are running this fine property
