We weren’t sure about our choice when we first arrived, since it’s on a very busy and noisy street. But once you are inside, it’s serene and inviting. Everyone was helpful, wanted to make our stay a good one. I think it’s a family-run hotel. We stayed here before catching a flight out the next day, and they accommodated a place for us to park our rental car. It’s older, from 1915, gorgeous colonial style tiling everywhere, lounge areas, outdoor dining area for breakfast. All just lovely. Our room was on in the interior of the hotel, and was very quiet. Great breakfast.

The 1915 Hotel was a delightful place to stay before catching my flight at the San Jose airport. The interior public spaces are charming, the room was great, the traditional Costa Rican breakfast was excellent, and the staff was very helpful. I highly recommend!!

Very clean and fun hotel with lots of character. Well suited in the city. Excellent service and I would definitely stay again. We stayed overnight after landing late. I love the open concept. Air-conditioning in the room was a bonus. Looking forward to my next visit

We pulled up to hotel around 11:00 pm, no lights were on. We didn't even know if it was open and there was no place to park. The neighborhood did not seem safe. We left and found alternate accomadations.

The building was very pretty, paintings and lobbies very historical. But the actual room, no soap, one trashcan in bathroom. When you book your room, make sure you ask for a/c because economy means no air.. Also, you have to be buzzed in and wait for somebody to come to the door. Room bathrooms just had one towel outlet did work and they do not clean your room every day as stated, you must ask for it. Also, there is no water provided for you. The staff was very nice and tried real hard to make you feel comfortable.

Quick overnight stay after a late flight into the country. The hotel is very cute, parking is a couple buildings down and secure but difficult to park in. There is a police station directly across the street and we felt plenty safe walking to restaurants.
