Shymbulak Gateway Homestay

It’s a new hotel (or a landed house), but seems still in soft launching phase. You can still see half finished work in the lobby and yard. 1. KZ hotel should register foreign visitors in the system as required by immigration, but this hotel didn’t. 2. There was no bin in the room. We had to ask for one. 3. Hair dryer cable was even not connected to the socket. We had to ask for another one. 4. There’s no basin or mirror. Had to use shower head for brushing teeth. 5. No hot water for showering. We took a shower around 9am and the water was only a bit warm. 6. Not easy to move around and no shops etc. nearby. We chose to take taxi. 7. Linen and blanket are small, not big enough for 2 people. 8. We didn’t have a good experience and decided to change 2 nights to 1 night. The booking has modification and refund option, but the hotel only refunded 40% of the second night, and Trip compensated 60% with trip coins.

It was very nice guesthouse. Would recommend.
