DoubleTree by Hilton Changbaishan Hot Spring

We enjoyed our previous stay so much that we decided to book an additional night in a family room. The hotel restaurant was pretty good; our kids wanted to eat there for every meal, and the menu saw slight variations daily. We have a child with a sensitive stomach, so it was fantastic that the restaurant offered millet porridge for both breakfast and dinner. It was clearly additive-free and cooked to perfection. The mini skewers were delicious and a hit with the kids. The corn kernels would be even better if they had a touch of syrup glaze. The hot springs were also quite good, though the swimming pool was a bit on the small side. When taking the hotel shuttle to Tianchi Lake, it would be helpful to have clearer directions on which entrance to use upon arrival.

Facilities: Excellent. Cleanliness: Spotless. Ambiance: This mountain hotel offers a tranquil and invigorating environment. Service: The staff were incredibly courteous. We specifically chose this hotel for its VIP access to Tianchi. They provided a dedicated shuttle service directly to the scenic area entrance, where the VIP lane ensured incredibly fast entry. We also received complimentary hot spring tickets. Absolutely fantastic!

I spent a long time searching for hotels and finally stumbled upon this one, which offered complimentary hot springs access, a Changbai Mountain VIP pass, and free shuttle service to/from Changbai Mountain High-Speed Rail Station. This sounded incredibly appealing, so I booked it without hesitation! I have to say, the Changbai Mountain VIP pass was absolutely fantastic! It saved us a good hour or two on the ascent, and they even provided a ride back to the hotel after descending. I highly recommend opting for their VIP package rooms! 😄 I had been checking the weather forecast for a week before our trip, and it consistently predicted rain for the 21st. On our arrival day (the 20th), Heaven Lake was even closed due to bad weather. So, I was pleasantly surprised when the 21st turned out to be a gorgeous, sunny day, and we finally got to see Heaven Lake! Our luck was incredible! ✌️ The hotel also proactively contacted me beforehand to check on my room requirements and even upgraded us to a spacious 36 sqm room free of charge. They also helped us arrange a taxi upon departure. I was extremely satisfied with their service! ❤️ The unlimited access to the riverside volcanic hot springs for 2 adults and 1 child, included in our package, was also excellent!

The most disappointing hotel stay I've ever had, especially considering the price of over 2800. 1. The hygiene was absolutely appalling. 2. The restaurant was incredibly mediocre, not as good as eating out, and ridiculously overpriced. 3. The management was disorganized, and the service was terrible. They couldn't resolve issues promptly and even refused to acknowledge their mistakes. The sheer arrogance of this hotel is unbelievable. Overall, this is the worst Hilton property I've ever encountered. Its high ratings are completely undeserved and clearly inflated.

We timed our visit with the Changbai Mountain 'Tomb Raider' themed event on August 17th, so we directly booked two nights at the Hilton. I found the service to be absolutely exceptional, far superior to the Shangri-La I stayed at previously (I'll never go back to the Shanghai Shangri-La again!!!!). Right from the moment we arrived, staff members were there to open car doors and handle our luggage. Check-in was incredibly smooth, and they even arranged VIP access for our mountain visit the next morning. I'd expected the hotel to be crowded and service slow, but that wasn't the case; multiple staff members were on hand to assist. The ladies at the front desk were all smiles throughout their shift. While these might be standard offerings at large hotels, it genuinely made us feel comfortable, respected, and highly valued. The hotel had arranged a pick-up service for us before we even arrived, and the driver's service was excellent too, by the way. It truly felt like a warm sense of welcome from the moment we arrived in Changbai Mountain. The hotel's welcome cookies were delicious! My friend even polished off my share, haha. I'm not big on sweets, but she absolutely loved them. I bet I'll have to take her to the lobby's beverage area tomorrow just to order more, haha. She said they were truly amazing. The room itself was also fantastic, with a lovely solid wood interior design. Funnily enough, before coming here, I told my friend I disliked wooden decor. But!!! The moment we stepped in, it felt incredibly cozy. The blend of solid wood and modern design was truly striking and refreshing. The room had a mini-fridge and, my favorite, a small sofa, perfect for my friend and me to lounge on, playing with our phones and munching on snacks, haha. The lighting in the room was also a very soft, warm yellow, contributing to that incredibly cozy feeling I mentioned from the moment we walked in. The bathroom had three separate areas: a standalone vanity mirror with lighting, and separate toilet and shower stalls. I absolutely loved this feature! I even told my friend I'm going to rip out my bathroom at home, which is currently being renovated, and remodel it to be exactly like the hotel's, haha. Back to the main point: since it was peak tourist season, there were many people trying to hail taxis, so the taxi company's dispatch might have been a bit slow. We ended up using an app to call a car ourselves. However, all of this was understandable, as Erdaobaihe Town was absolutely swarming with people – it felt like millions! Nevertheless, the hotel manager and my personal butler were incredibly helpful. They even went out of their way to message me on WeChat specifically to explain the situation, which wasn't even the hotel's fault since they were just assisting us with calling a taxi. It made me feel a bit guilty. Overall, the service was truly meticulous and thoughtful. After we returned from our outing, we had a sudden urge to have drinks at the lobby bar. We'd seen online that it was open until 11 PM, but when we got to the bar area a little after 10 PM, it was deserted. The front desk clarified it closed at 10 PM – guess you can't trust all online information, haha. We were just about to give up on the idea, but the front desk lady offered to call someone for us. So we ended up having our drinks. We felt a bit bad for delaying their closing time. Here's the main point: my friend had been suffering from a headache since we got back in the afternoon, and by midnight, the pain was so intense she couldn't sleep, and she woke me up at 3 AM. I contacted our butler, though it was so late I didn't expect a reply. I was truly touched that they replied so late at night. At the same time, I inwardly scolded myself for bothering someone so late 🥲. The butler then connected us with the concierge to arrange a car to fetch medicine. The concierge staff member was incredibly kind and personally came up to confirm everything with us. Unfortunately, in the end, we couldn't get anything because the town's pharmacies were already closed. Nevertheless, I really want to commend the hotel and its staff for being incredibly responsible and dedicated. I feel compelled to write a thousand words praising them! It truly felt like incredibly heartwarming and personalized service. We had a wonderful time on this trip, and if we come back, we'll definitely book the Hilton again. A huge thank you once more to the lovely Nana for her thoughtful and attentive service – both the hotel and its people are fantastic!

We booked for three nights and received a complimentary upgrade upon arrival. The hotel also provides a free shuttle service to and from the station. We have two children. While our booking originally included hot spring access and breakfast for two adults and one child, the hotel generously extended complimentary breakfast and hot spring access to our older child as well. The hot spring area is quite spacious, featuring both indoor and outdoor pools, along with a children's water park. Our younger son absolutely loved it, insisting he wanted to come back and was reluctant to leave. The hot springs are conveniently located very close to the hotel, and they provide everything you need: slippers, towels, toiletries, and even special hot spring attire. It wasn't crowded. The hotel also offers a car service. They arranged for us to take the kids 'ginseng digging' and rafting, even securing discounted group tickets for us, which were cheaper than buying online. Both the driver and all hotel staff were incredibly service-minded.
