La ubicación del hotel es muy buena, con una vista muy bonita y con muchísimos restaurantes al lado en el puerto. Cuesta un poco llegar, eso sí, y es probable que en temporada alta sea muy difícil aparcar. El desayuno de notable. La ducha de cortesía el último día por la tarde es un detallazo para aprovechar bien el día de salida. El servicio muy atento.

Was really looking forward to this holiday but so disappointed the room was very badly designed no room for clothes no draws wardrobe door very noisy and would not close properly and shower dark water went from to to cold in the shower Roof top closed for maintenance but why when people have paid good money for this holiday one of the reasons I came to this hotel was Roof top terrace and entertainment (none) there are no beaches nearby but didn't mind because I knew we would be using the roof top (not). There was no entertainment except for 1 singer . The food was always Luke warm/cold and lack of variety I notched last year on TripAdvisor cold food was mentioned but obviously nothing has been done its not the chef but the way they store it. This hotel has great views over the harbour though.

We selected a Superior room with a sea view and we were extremely pleased with our choice! Roof top bar was not opening until mid May, even though the weather was very good .

We have been coming to Es Castell regulary since 2015. During our most recent visit in April 2024 we visited the Barcelo Hamilton to ask if we could view one of their double sea view rooms (we wanted to check out the lack of privacy of the bathroom / toilet in the bedroom that other reviewers had mentioned on Tripadvisor). The lady at reception said we could see the rooms if we visited their website. I explained that we had looked at their website but would like to view a room in person, she explained that they were very busy as it was a very busy check-in day. I explained that I totally understood and said that we would be staying for a week and would be happy to view the room when it was convenient for them as we only needed 5 minutes. Frustratingly she said that this would not be possible. This is in stark contrast to another 2 hotels that we visited in Es Castell that said we could visit at our convenience and they would do their best to meet our request (which they both did). Maybe the person on reception that we spoke to at the Barcelo Hamilton did not have the authority to allow us to view the room, however based on our experience we would now not look at staying at the Hamilton in the future.

The views from the hotel are good .The rooms are extremely small. The pool area is very small with views mainly of concrete walls. The quality of food was poor,not 4 star standard at all, and it was boring because there was nothing to do.

Such a disappointment !!! Main reason we booked this hotel was the attraction of the roof top bar area! Photos look stunning ! But that is all we know of it as it’s ’closed For maintenance’ . Jet2 had told us about the building work noise, and said we could change hotel. But didn’t inform us about this ! Even though there are comments on trip advisor about it posted before we even left ! So all the guests are crammed around a tiny pool with lots of shade …… like a prison exercise yard !

I will start with the positives. The majority of the staff are lovely and very helpful especially the bar staff. The bed was very comfortable. We were after a quick break and were looking forward to experiencing the port of Mahon from the roof top bar but this was closed as was the Mediterranean restaurant and the wellness facilities. All of these things although not ideal we’re not the worst of it. We booked a superior sea view room. The view from the room was amazing, however the room left a lot to be desired. The wardrobe door was broken, we only had two very small drawers, the shower was black, the skirting boards were broken, the toilet flush was hanging off, the mirrors were damaged, I could go on and on about the room issues. The room was poorly cleaned with the cups and glasses not washed, water and coffee not replaced and when requested with reception it never arrived. On our final evening in our fourth floor room we had a cockroach in the toilet area, which my husband removed. The restaurant food was cold, even if we dined as soon as it opened, it was always cold, there was very little choice, the all inclusive we paid for was pointless as we ate out the majority of the time. We will never return to this hotel or group again,
