More than anywhere else I had the pleasure of staying during our trip, the New Flying Horse made me and my family wish we never had to leave. Joe, Jane, and all the staff run a lovely, quaint country inn, pub, and restaurant where the only thing better than the food is the service, and that’s saying a lot! Great beer selection (try one or seven of the Master Brew!), gin infused in-house with the fruits of their own patio garden, and a cheerful local crowd to enjoy it all with. Sit by the fireplace for some quieter conversation or right up in front of the bar for the banter, the good times roll here. Next, enjoy some delicious traditional fare, or a filet that could just as easily be served in Paris. There were even options for the kids which they happily lapped up. Do yourself a favor, save room for the Sticky Toffee Pudding… or skip dinner and order two of them, and have someone help you up the stairs to your room. The beds are comfy and the room was roomy, even right above the pub you couldn’t hear the noise. Kids slept all night with stomachs pleasantly full! Breakfast was a great start to the day every morning, with something tasty on the menu for all tastes. The little things, like offering us a map before we went for a walk, or an umbrella, just add to the charm of the place and the people working here. These folks are proud of their place in the country, and we absolutely enjoyed our stay here. We will definitely be back sometime before Spurs win the PL title, or before the Lions move up to get their shot at it, whichever comes first! Thanks Joe and Jane!

We popped in for a drink and light bite on Friday lunchtime. Place was fairly busy but staff were welcoming and pleasant. Bought drinks at bar and the young gentleman behind bar kindly gave us the heads up re. A table about to vacate as there was no where initially to sit down. As it happened a table right in front of the bar then became available so we sat there. Ordered and paid for two omelettes and fries but although no mention of a service charge on the lunchtime menu, this was added to the non-itemised receipt. I queried this and the same young gentleman apologised and offered to refund the charge. The food was nice enough and served in good time. They also served a complimentary amuse bouche. Overall what could have been a good experience was let down by the adding of an unadvertised (on the lunch menu at least) service charge for a party of 2 sitting about 2ft from the bar! We did tip - we always do - but I prefer to have the option and to make the decision after the food has actually been served. As yet no sign of the refund to my debit card either.

We had room five which is in the main building, the room was full of character and nicely decorated and besides a small mark on the carpet was clean and well looked after. There was a Wi-Fi repeater in the room so the wi-fi was strong, there was also a 5G signal which is better than we can get at home in a large town. There was a small work area along with the tea/coffee-making area. At check-in I was given a small flask of fresh milk, which was a nice touch as to me there is nothing worse than UHT milk. The bathroom was clean and stylish with everything that you may require for your stay. The staff were friendly and helpful showing us up to our room. Breakfast was cooked to order and warm croissants were served while you waited, there was also a normal continental selection along with fruit juices. My only negative observation was this modern fascination with sourdough bread, which I'm afraid find tough especially as toast, and would have preferred plain old white sliced toasting bread. I would recommend this Inn, oh and it won Shepherd Neame Pub of 2023

Stayed overnight visiting family and what a wonderful pub. The food was superb , the rooms were decorated beautifully and lots of thoughtful extras like biscuits , tea & coffee and water . The pub loves dogs -they have dog bowls , doggie treats and even a doggie breakfast if you stay overnight . Huge wine range all available by the glass , fab range of beers and lagers , plus non alcoholic drinks . Wye is a lovely village and this pub and all of its staff are a credit to it .

Quick decision for lunch, four of us + baby. Nice welcome . Superb decor, clean and very comfortable. Great menu, great selection of beers, settled for a Whitstable Bay Stout, lovely. I had a super fish and chips, large piece of bread and oil, (wonderful). Undoubtedly will be back. Thank you.

We used this place as a staging post between Scotland and our home in France. We arrived in a terrible rainy night and quickly settled in to our cosy stable room which although was cold on arrival quickly heated up when we opened up the radiators. A short walk across the courtyard to the pub and restaurant. For dinner I had a vegetarian risotto with butternut squash, mushrooms , chestnuts and parmesan. It was delicious accompanied by a glass of English red wine. I could not resist the orange and chocolate bread and butter pudding served with real crème anglaise-it was superb. Next morning I had a veggie cooked breakfast which was superb. Really good coffee with breakfast. I also have to mention the lemon curd which was excellent. The service was really good and friendly at all times. Will definitely use in the future.

We just returned after a fantastic one night stay at this lovely pub. Our room (N.o.2) was simply lovely ❤️ and well furnished. The small treats on the bed was great and along will complimentary milk from the bar, made our cups of tea excellent. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding and all the staff friendly & welcoming 😊 We would definitely recommend to all and return again soon. Keep up the great work 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My partner and I spent a wonderful weekend in this lovely pub. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. Cosy welcoming bar. Great food, lovely room but best of all, 5* service from every member of staff, who could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Outstanding. Can’t wait to return.

This was our second stay and it was just as good as the first time. We first stayed in the summer and knew that it would be a great place to stay again at Christmas time! Rooms are cosy, clean and have all the facilities that you need, topped off with some sweet homemade treats. The chef is fab - the menu is varied and the food excellent. The bar is cosy and has a roaring fire making it feel like home from home. Breakfast was fantastic too - hot, local produce cooked to perfection. Highly recommended! You won’t be disappointed with this little hidden gem of a pub with rooms! Can’t wait to come back in the summer!
