Cancun has long been a favorite for our family vacations, offering a relaxing and familiar atmosphere. This recent visit, however, marked a departure from the usual standards. While some aspects remain excellent, a few areas could benefit from improvement. New Booking Policy: Previously, the hotel only required a one-night deposit, making it easier to manage unexpected situations. The new policy of demanding 100% upfront for a four-night stay feels inflexible, particularly for established guests. Repetitive Document Checks: While requesting identification is standard practice, having to present a marriage certificate on every visit becomes tedious. A secure digital record system could streamline this process for returning guests. Persistent Pest Issue: The most significant concern was the prevalence of flies throughout the property. Enjoying open-air dining or relaxing on the balcony proved difficult. While staff addressed the problem with manual control, the solution seemed insufficient. Implementing fly traps, a common practice, could significantly improve the outdoor experience. Half-Board Package: The breakfast selection remained satisfactory; however, dinner options displayed inconsistency. Lunchtime presented a further challenge. While opting for the half-board package, the a la carte lunch options felt overpriced and underwhelming in terms of both quality and portion size. Expanding the half-board package to include a wider range of lunch options, or offering more reasonably priced a la carte alternatives, would greatly enhance the value proposition. Room for Improvement in Accommodations: The guest rooms, while comfortable, exhibited signs of age. Creaky doors requiring multiple attempts to close disrupted sleep quality. Investing in room renovations, particularly addressing the doors, would elevate the overall experience. Positive Aspects Remain: Importantly, the room service remained impeccable, and the hotel maintained its usual high standards of cleanliness. The staff continued to be friendly and accommodating, though I have some reservations on the reception staff. Overall, Cancun holds a special place in our family's travel memories. We trust that by addressing these areas for improvement, the hotel can recapture its previous excellence and ensure a consistently positive experience for all guests.
