Johannesbad Hotel St. Georg

When we come to Bad Hofgastein, we normally stay at another place but they didn't have the rooms I wanted for just three nights so I tried this place. Let's start with the good things. The room was nice, clean, comfy. Bathroom was good with a tub. Breakfast was okay. Most of the staff were friendly. However.... I especially asked the hotel when dinner was served because we had that included in our room. I was told between 6 and 8. Good. We arrived at 715 and you'd think that we arrived at midnight. Receptionist was all in a panic because the kitchen staff wanted to go home and we were late. Well if dinner is served between 6 and 8, I'm not really sure how 715 is late. Half of the containers in the salad buffet were empty and were never refilled. Waitress was rather rude and sloppy looking, as if she had quickly dressed again for us. Food was lackluster at best. Compared to where my wife and I always stay when here, this place was a definite several steps below although they charged the same price. Very disappointed. Wanted to make a massage appointment in the morning for that afternoon and the receptionist told me, "not now, I'm busy can't you see." She was busy staring at the computer screen. When I finally did make a reservation the next day, I rushed back from the town to get there on time, only to find that the front desk never told the spa people about my massage and so I didn't get that either because the massage person went home already! It is obvious to me that the staff at this hotel is more concerned about getting out of there and back home than in any type of customer service. Would not stay here again and would advise others to look around first and make this your last choice.

Effecient service delivered by friendly and very helpful staff staff. Good food and great breakfast to satrt the day before hitting the slopes

Just about to leave to come home. Have really enjoyed the hotel. Everything about it has been great. Food, accommodation, staff, swimming pool and massive sauna area. 5 ish min walk to lifts. Has a ski room but you can rent a locker at the gondola. Easy to navigate slopes and access other areas. Centre to town will shops and banks nearby.

Ok, am puzzled if I write a honest review I may not find availability next time. So the staff really friendly and kind try to do their best but I keep the guest happy. Room. On not modern but this is what I like for my ski holiday. But more importantly clean and you have all the necessary needs. Food. I only have two words to say “very good” please this is a matter of taste and liking. Do I recommend 100% would I come back 100%

All the highest rates for this hotel and for its staff. We had amazing skiing holidays there. The hotel is very cozy, super clean and taken care of. Great spa zone and swimming pool to get relaxed after whole day outside. And even though the hotel seemed to be full - you could not feel that, made it easy to feel peace and relax. The kitchen! Big applause! Perfect! A great variety of food during breakfast, there are always fresh fruits like mango papaya kiwi etc. offered. Even the sparkling wine if you don't preffer coffee in the morning:) Dinner was also perfect, the food always tasted great, a few different a la carte options to choose from, and always a vegeterian option! That made us very happy as we don't eat meat. And.. the staff! Giving 5 stars and a plus for each and one of them. Friendly, helpful, caring, and really doing everything to give you your best experience during your holidays. Thank you all, you made us want to come back to this hotel as soon as possible 🤗

Fantastic hotel, great food, service and location . Breakfast was a perfect start to the day with a choice of eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereals etc. Dinner superb. Probably the best food we’ve had on our ski holidays so far . Kids really enjoyed the pool and the games room. Only a five minute walk to the Gondala

This hotel was amazing! Adorable decor, friendly staff, and great food and coffee! Great views! Beds werent the most comfortable but managable. Parking is a little tough but everything was worth it.

Weird smelling room, no toiletries, no mini-bar, no safe, no coffee or tea machine. Also, the room could not be locked from inside of the room. The room had a “worn-out” feeling. Definitely not a 4* hotel. Good breakfast and nice view from the room.
