Revisiting Pingyao, I chose this inn and my experience exceeded expectations. It's a typical Jin merchant-style courtyard, with blue bricks, grey tiles, and lanterns hanging high, creating an authentic and ancient atmosphere. It offers a tranquil escape in the midst of the bustling ancient city; despite its central location, the courtyard is incredibly peaceful. The owner was warm and thoughtful, even recommending sightseeing routes and local delicacies. Check-in was smooth. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding comfortable, and the bathroom facilities complete with stable hot water. The cleanliness details were impeccable. Sitting idly in the small courtyard, soaking in the ancient city's slow pace, felt truly immersive. It was convenient for visiting attractions and finding food, with no hidden extra costs, offering excellent value for money. If you're staying in an ancient courtyard in Pingyao, this place is highly recommended. I'll definitely choose it again on my next visit.

The location is fantastic, right on the edge of the old town center. The building itself is beautiful, a charming and historic old structure. The underfloor heating wasn't very warm, so we had to use the air conditioning, which made it a bit dry in winter. The shower had low water pressure and felt weak, though the sink faucet was fine. Overall, it was okay. If you're visiting the old town, I'd still recommend staying in one of these old inns within the walls; it's convenient for getting around and a great way to experience a centuries-old building.

This guesthouse is located in what used to be a wealthy residential area in Pingyao, and it's tastefully decorated in a Ming and Qing dynasty style. Each room has soundproof doors, which is a detail worth praising. The breakfast is a buffet, and while it doesn't offer as many options as a mid-to-high-end hotel, I found it much more accommodating than the set meals offered at other guesthouses. It's also super close to the bustling South Street, just a one-minute walk away. I want to highlight the service from the staff. When we arrived, the lovely lady at the front desk spent five minutes meticulously explaining a tour strategy using a map, and she patiently answered all our questions. When we went to a popular restaurant in the ancient town, they even helped us skip the queue, which I assume is a partnership they have – it was incredibly convenient. Finally, a big thank you to the brother who helped us with our luggage. Our car had a flat tire, and we were in a rush. We had already left the ancient city when we ran into him. He proactively helped us change the tire, and a 21-inch tire is incredibly heavy! He was drenched in sweat afterwards, truly a warm-hearted person. Thumbs up! 👍

My mother and two aunts came to Shanxi for a trip before the May Day holiday, and their first stop was Pingyao Ancient City. When I started looking for a hotel for them, I immediately noticed Qianxiqing, which is very close to the North Gate of the ancient city. Its antique decor perfectly matches the characteristics of the ancient city. After browsing further, I found that the hotel facilities were very new and high-end, and they also offered services like station pick-up, so I decisively made a reservation. On the day of their arrival, I communicated with the owner in advance. The owner was kind, amiable, and meticulously provided me with an introduction, and understood the details needed for the pick-up. For the pick-up, the owner personally used a Mercedes-Benz van, which was quite a high-class touch! Upon arrival at the hotel, he patiently and thoroughly explained the hotel's features and provided information about some attractions in Pingyao Ancient City. He even contacted me after my mother and aunts went into the ancient city to inform them about some things to pay attention to while exploring. He was truly thoughtful. The next day when they checked out, the owner personally drove them to the North Gate. Even though it was a short stay of less than a day, it truly demonstrated the highly professional standards and warm, attentive service of this hotel, the owner, and their team. It made me feel incredibly reassured. The next time I bring my family to visit the ancient city, I will definitely choose this hotel again!

Very good experience. The owners are friendly and provide pick up at the gate entrance. Pretty courtyard and the owners shared a lot of information on where to eat / shop at. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse to those wanting to visit Pingyao.

I stayed at the Tingbo Hotel, and the location is absolutely fantastic, right at the entrance of the scenic area. You can step out and start exploring immediately, which is incredibly convenient. The room was spotless, so clean you could see your reflection, and the bed was super soft – I woke up feeling completely refreshed. The front desk staff were wonderful, always patiently answering my questions, truly thoughtful. I especially loved the hotel's decor style; it's very unique. Every corner is meticulously arranged and looks amazing in photos. Plus, the hotel service was excellent; it was such a pleasant stay. The value for money at this hotel is incredible. The price wasn't expensive, but the service and facilities were outstanding. It felt like a great deal. The hotel is clean, and its location near the north gate of the ancient city means you can walk everywhere, which is very convenient. I'll definitely come back next time.

The owner is incredibly genuine and offers fantastic service. They even arranged car transfers to and from the high-speed train station, which was a huge plus. It was a wonderful stay! I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit and will recommend it to my friends.

The hotel's travel photography and makeup services are also top-notch. All in all, a truly worthwhile stay!

A wonderful inn nestled in a tranquil location amidst the bustle of the city. From the initial pick-up and parking arrangements to the final departure, there was not a single unpleasant experience; they were incredibly attentive, helpful, and meticulous. The inn is elegant, clean, and tidy. The staff are friendly, patient, and responsive. The aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air daily, and the Chinese and Western breakfasts are cooked to order. While the variety isn't extensive, every bite is satisfying, especially the bowl of beef noodles, which is incredibly good! The room's simple and elegant decor perfectly reflects the ancient city's style. No matter how exhausted you are from exploring, returning to the courtyard provides a truly relaxing and tranquil experience. Overall, it was a truly wonderful two-day stay. I'd especially like to thank Ms. Dong Yanxia (I think that's her name) for her patient, meticulous, and attentive service, which has left me and my family with wonderful memories of this holiday!
