Calm Villa

We really loved our 5 night stay at Calm Villa. The layout of the villa was great. The pool was lovely and inviting, and water the perfect temperature. Having the small gas top was perfect if we wanted to cook breakfast. The Villa staff were wonderful and did everything they could to make our stay memorable. The daily house keeping was great too. Highly recommended Calm Villa for any couples looking for lovely private accommodation options in a great quiet location.

We spent an enjoyable week at Calm Villa. We had friends in Seminyak on holiday and we wanted a place near to where there were staying. The location is good - the villas are on a quiet road which strops just before the beach, which means there isn’t a great deal of traffic. There’s a shortcut to the beach, making it about 5 mins’ walk. There’s a great warung and coffee shop about 200m away, and you’re in Petitenget once you reach the end of the road. The villa was comfortable. Bedroom and bathroom were great, with just about enough hot water at our disposal for a bath! (quiet rare for Bali in my experience!) The kitchen was sufficient to make simple meals if you want. Daily housekeeping and WA communication was great. Decent wifi. The pool was a small and actually pretty cold, but we didn’t expect anything more to be honest. We were in the very end villa and it was a strangely long walk for a small development - a bit like a maze and probably about 150-200m from reception! All in all, a good stay but maybe a tad pricey.

So before you book this villa, I tell about the situation I had there. It was the worst place and service I had here in Bali. So I had 3-nights confirmed booking. At the first night I didn’t have a hot water in the shower at all. It was a midnight and they ask me to wait till 1 am (!). I wanted to sleep but I waited and at 1 am I had the hot water for 5 min and nothing after that. It was so bad and they didn’t do anything. The place is really expensive and at 2 am I still didn’t have hot water and have to go to my friends house to took a shower. It was bad. But not so bad as it was after that. In the morning I told about the situation and they didn’t care at all. I asked to compensate me this unacceptable accommodation they provided. They said no. They still don’t care. They offer me a breakfast. Breakfast for no having a hot water at villa?! But it wasn’t a joke. But the most awful part was after that. They said they canceled my booking. And I HAVE TO LEAVE a place and take all my stuff. I was shocked. The first time in my life I met this. The manager said they will do it by themselves if I don’t come back as soon as possible. They couldn’t explain the reason why they are doing it. It was just rude and inappropriate. I came to villa and asked the full name of manager and what’s going on here. She didn’t tell me her name. The guy on reception tried to hide it too. By phone she spoke to me so rude and impolite. So I’m going to police tomorrow. I have all the screenshots of our conversation. Even a recording of our dialogue by phone. I’m really shocked about this place, their inappropriate, illegal behavior and so awful service they provide. It’s not even a service. So if you don’t want to ruin your vacation, lose time and money, don’t go to this place.
