I had to stop in CT overnight to leave for an early NYC work date. I found this B&B on the internet, and I am so glad I did. Warmly welcomed by Loretta and Rita, the two sweet small dogs, and Jim, the owner, he helped me bring my bag up to my room (steep old farmhouse stairs). The room was quiet, delightfully appointed like a fancy hotel room with the thickest towels, a deep big jacuzzi bathtub, thick Terry cloth bathrobes, and the most comfortable bed ever. There were home baked brownies and cookies and candies and snacks and information about all the local restaurants. I was too tired to bother to go out or order delivery for dinner, but the snacks and drinks were just enough. But there were many restaurants nearby that sounded great. Next morning, I had the best most elegant and delicious smoothie and farm fresh eggs (I saw Jim go to the chicken house to get the eggs) omelet. It was just the perfect place. Beautiful table setting and a choice to eat outside in the garden. Cleanliness was perfection. When coming home from my trip two days later, I realized I would arrive in that area around 10:30 at night and would be too tired to drive the extra hour back home. I called and was relieved to find out I could stay in my room another night and Jim said he would wait up for me, not to worry. Slept fabulously, used the jacuzzi again to relax in the morning, and then had truly the most delicious Brioche French toast of my life. Perfect bacon, fruit, and another smoothie. I visited the chickens in the morning (they are tame) and heard stories about the local bear visits from Jim. Absolute perfection. I would love to return.
