Premier Inn Basildon (East Mayne)

Hdmi lead was loose, normally these hotels have a little hub to plug things in. This didn't instead it had a hdmi lead petruding out of a hole. Lamp was missing a switch. Toilet seats need changing as it's clear they've had years of yes. Carpets are bobbley and need replacing.

Arrived early & were greeted by such lovely friendly staff, our room was fine, bed very comfy & slept very well, TV is a bit dodgy to work. The power button only turns it off, we discovered... also, consider eating elsewhere to the beefeater next door, we had to send cold food back & although we got money off our bill, we weren't impressed. Hotel is excellent though!

A pleasant enough stay, and the Premier Inn staff are nice, but it’s a shame that the food provision is via the Beefeater next door – its an adult creche for day time drinkers, the food options are limited and often don’t taste nice, the older male staff would clearly rather be the other side of the bar than the serving side, and the rest of the staff are confused, stretched, or just not on top of things.

A great stay with welcoming and accommodating staff. It is conveniently located for what we needed and the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. If we come back to the area then we will definitely consider staying again.

Poor communication between staff resulted in rooms not being available when we arrived, staff openly blaming poor communication on collegues as the excuse, 45 min delay to get to one room then 2nd room not ready for a further 40 mins, resulted in 4 adults sharing one room to get ready for a wedding after a 4 hour car journey. this is unacceptable as there wasnt even enough towels for everyone to shower. once the rooms were finally ready Check in took over 25 mins as the staff were unable to work the computer system and were openly moaning and complaining to myself about how it doesnt work and how they cant use it! Room also smelt heavily of bleach. breakfast was awful, the breakfast area was extremally dirty, bread and pastries were stale and hard, when I complained to the server I was told that was because they had been left out overnight uncovered, the area where you help yourself was filthy and all of the surfaces were unclean, there was no juice in the dispenser's and despite asking 3 times for them to be refilled this didnt happen. When we returned to our rooms after breakfast at 9.30am my daughter wasnt able to access her room as the cleaners had entered and started to clean it even though we hadnt yet checked out and my daughter had her photographic equipment in the room at this time, this is completely unacceptable, when we raised this with reception the just said it was normal practice by the cleaners as sometimes people forget to check out so the cleaners will enter the rooms?!

Room was clean but on small side but suitable for what we needed breakfast was very poor 1 out of 4 of us had correct breakfast table order taken but all wrong, then asked for new eggs didn't turn up no check back yo see if everything was OK, didn't come back with condiments probably worst breakfast ever had didn't like having to go up and downstairs for breakfast stuff so food drinks get cold

Always stay at this premier Inn come couple of times a year and never been disappointed. Room always perfect and staff so accommodating, I always stay in a premier inn when I’m away and this is the best by far..

Wow wow wow what a lovely place, brilliant bed so bloody comfortable. Clean room and clean establishment. But the staff, how welcoming and friendly they are. I would 100% recommend you to stay here it’s top notch. Like I say it’s clean, quiet and friendly thanks guys. Oh and there was two gold bars (chocolate) in my room what a touch.

Hotel was ok but dated in the rooms but clean, breakfast extremely good value and very testy egg bacon sausage mushroom has brown etc latte croissants you name it All very nice staff were friendly at reception bar and room cleaners Over all I’d stay again but need a refurbishment at some point in the future
