The Hotel Blanda offered a very basic room. It had a bed and that was about it. This took minimalism to the extreme. The person at the front desk was very nice at check in but then we never saw anyone again during our stay. The worst part about our stay was the breakfast. It was severely lacking and didn't offer anything that was remotely healthy. Very disappointing considering breakfasts in most other hotels around the island have been excellent.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights and absolutely loved it. Hotel Blanda is a good, comfortable, clean and quiet hotel with comfortable beds and great water pressure. As one reviewer mentioned, the warm water has a sulfuric smell, but that is typical in Iceland. What separates this hotel from anywhere else in town, even from most places I've stayed around the world, is the service. Natalia and Einar were absolutely wonderful hosts, always went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and offer any help they could. They also provided us with lots of great tips for our trip and were excellent and refreshing company to chat with. Both have true hearts of gold and are such generous hosts, aiding with some of our special needs and offering us coffee to go on our way out. It's a really really special place and if I'm back in Iceland, I'll be staying there again at some point on my trip for sure.

I will start saying that the rooms are quite big, with a TV and a clean bathroom. However the bed sheets were dirty. The hotel doesn't have an "amazing ocean view" it's just close to the ocean, with rooms at the first flow where anyone can see inside of your room giving you zero privacy. The worst part is the breakfast, if you are planning to visit Iceland z you need to know that everything in Iceland is super expensive (including eating) for that reason the best strategy to travel is to have a huge breakfast and skip lunch. The breakfast at this hotel is ridiculous to say the least. - no sweets/brioches - no eggs or bacon - no oa**eal - just orange juice - an house type roster - no fruits - the most chemical jam I have ever had - the square type of ham (the cheapest one)

Very typical hotel, certainly not the most fancy you'll find but very standard in Island. Rooms are clean and very functional (with good beds). Breakfast is very good. However the hotel is making the difference in the services provided by the staff and the manager. We were advised to go to a very good African restaurant nearby. Reservation was made by the hotel personnel. Restaurants are in the next road closeby as well as the town swimming pool (quite nice!) Also, We actually forgot our passports in the hotel and the owner got in contact with us and arranged a delivery in another hotel (far from Blonduos) to make sure we can get them back before our departure from Island. This support was provided free of charge ! I highly recommend this hotel for the location, services and above all the professionalism of the staff and the owner.

Extremely helpful and friendly front desk/concierge staff, gave us several recommendations for restaurants in the area. Their own restaurant was closed. Also suggested several local-ish sights and when we mentioned where we were going an alternate route for maximum tourist potential.

De eerste kamer die we aangeboden kregen (nummer 208) was piepklein. Wij konden niet eens één koffer kwijt. Het had wel een fjordzicht. Het meisje bood dan kamernummer 209, maar toevoegt dat alhoewel het wel groter was, had de kamer maar een heel klein raampje. “Je kunt niet alles hebben”, zei ze. Maar dan bedacht ze dat er nog een kamer vrij was, kamernummer 210. Wij mogen kiezen. Die was voldoende ruim, met twee ramen met een fjordzicht. Maar de badkamer was klein en stonk een beetje naar rotten eieren van het warme water. Ja, ‘je kunt niet alles hebben’, maar toch hebben we die kamer gekozen. Volgens de hotel eigenaar hadden hier beroemdheden zoals Eric Clapton en Ringo Star overnacht. In het dorp was verder alles links bij de rotonde en over de brug.

Es ist alles sehr sehr sauber und die Hotelbesitzer sind superfreundlich, man fühlt sich sofort willkommmen. Das täuscht alles leider nicht darüber hinweg, dass das ganze Hotel arg in die Jahre gekommen ist. Durchgelegene Matratzen, abgewetztes Interior aus den 50ern - man fûhlt sich wie in einem alten SED Hotel. Das Frühstück ist supergünstig und dementsprechend dürftig. Wer ohne Ansprüche möglichst preiswert ûbernachten möchte, ist hier richtig - wer Urlaubsfeeling und Entspannung sucht, sucht eher das Weite.

Hotel che gode di un passato sicuramente sfarzoso, di cui è rimasto però ben poco nel presente. Struttura fatiscente, in un quartiere che viaggia purtroppo sullo stesso livello. Le camere rispettano gli standard di un 3 stelle, quanto a ampiezza, ed è questo a valere la seconda stella; la pulizia non è ottimale, il bollitore aveva residui risalasti all’ultimo utilizzo e uno degli asciugamani aveva delle macchie. La colazione è dozzinale: pane da tostare, marmellata, prosciutto e formaggio, cereali. Stop. Non al livello di un 3 stelle. Il costo per lo meno è basso.

Hotel heeft wat achterstallig onderhoud. Wat schuur en schilderwerk zou al heel veel doen. Kamer, met zeezicht, was prima. Badkamer klein maar voor 2 nachtjes prima. Eigenaar was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam met raad en info. Wist ons te vertellen dat Ringo Starr ook in dezelfde kamer had geslapen als wij hadden. Water uit de douche stonk wel wat maar dit werd ons al verteld bij het inchecken. Sieraden afdoen tijdens douchen. Ontbijt was wat karig maar geen probleem voor ons. Al met al een prima kwaliteits-prijs verhouding. Ik zou er echter geen week verblijven maar denk ook dat de meeste mensen hier verblijven die op doorreis zijn.
