Vrooman Mansion B&B

Our family of 4 stayed - the “kids” are 20 and 22 and were home for Thanksgiving. Rather than chilling at home we wanted somewhere to go without traveling far from home. I can’t believe I didn’t know this existed in my town before, but my Google search uncovered this gem. I knew about the Vrooman mansion, but I did not know that you could rent out the entire carriage house. That’s right - the entire house - all to ourselves! It was a GREAT experience! The house itself is so beautifully decorated. The attention to detail is out of this world…the light fixtures, the sinks, the luxurious robes, the bathrooms - all so unique and all perfect for the ambiance. There was a smart TV so even though the vibe is rustic and “back in the day” we watched movies on Netflix and Hulu with the fireplace going after we played some games and had dinner. Even though we stayed at the carriage house we still had access to the main floor of the main house and received a delicious breakfast each morning. Couple tips: turn down the heat at night because the bedrooms hold the heat (low 60s is perfect) and definitely wear the robes! Our family had such a great experience here - highly recommend!

Vrooman Mansion vastly exceeds expectations for business travel. You essentially have the run of the place which has excellent accommodations, attached baths that are first rate, wi-fi, wood-burning fireplace. The included breakfast was excellent and way beyond what you would get at a chain hotel. Plus it’s in a quiet tree-lined neighborhood rather than a patch of neo-suburban pavement. The staff is very nice and personable, nothing like you would get at a chain. You really feel at home here, no joke. You’re dealing with real people and really nice people. Wonderful in every respect. Very highly recommended!

Very large and beautiful mansion with many rooms. Could invision staying here with several family members! Breakfast was out of this world. I think it was the best I've had at a B and B ... and we've stayed at many. An interesting sidenote ... I'm not so sure that we weren't "visited" periodically throughout the night. I dreamed that my husband and I weren't the only ones in the room. I felt that someone was watching us with care. It was a peaceful presence. It happened on and off throughout the night that I began to wonder ... and wonder if the Julias weren't visiting this Julia. Thank you for a very pleasant stay!

It was so much fun staying in the Vrooman mansion and learning the history. It is located in a nice area. We were walking distance to the Grossinger Motor Arena. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The room was the perfect size for the 3 of us. The breakfast was incredible. I would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed in the Carriage house. The whole house is nicely decorated in era dating back to the 1900’s . Friendly knowledgeable staff greeted us and made us feel welcome. The breakfast in the morning was nicely done with a gourmet touch. We thought our stay was a great value for what we paid

We had a wonderful experience at the Vrooman Mansion. The owners and staff are very welcoming and hospitable. We were given a tour and some history of the mansion when we arrived. The mansion was impeccably clean, beds were comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. It was perfectly located to Illinois Wesleyan which was convenient as we were in town to visit our son. Highly recommend!

This was a long overdue stay! The Vrooman Mansion far exceeded our expectations! The staff and amenities were world class! The mansion is stunning both inside and out. This is a must stay when in the Bloomington area. We will definitely be back! The Vrooman Family.

The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming and were very knowledgeable on the history of the mansion and were eager to share. The mansion itself was maintained beautifully and had that old historic charm. We stayed in Julie Vrooman's room and everything was delightful. The large windows and beautiful furniture were breathtaking and the bed was nice and comfortable. We also opted for the chocolate lovers package and it was fantastic and ready in our room when we got back from running around. The breakfast was delicious and the overall charm of the mansion was just great. We can't wait to stay again and check out another room!

I hosted my daughter's bridal shower at Vrooman Mansion this weekend and it was PERFECT. The tea luncheon package impressed our guests - both in presentation and taste. The ambiance of the mansion is rich, classy, and cozy. Everyone commented on how beautiful it was and how great the food was. I can't thank Aspen and the other staff members enough for making it a perfect day. Thank you!
