Very Good
CCaleb CreasonHotel is quite nice, staff was very friendly and room as clean and equipped nicely. Breakfast was expansive with a good selection for everyone. The location is within walking distance to many things. We took a nice walk to the science park area and visited one of the local temples. There is also a nice speakeasy bar within 10 min walk (kind of hidden past the starbucks up the hill). I would definitely recommend this hotel to business visitors or tourists as well.
GGuest UserThe hotel location is convenient, near the train station, malls, parks and zoo. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is great. Would love to go back again.
LLucasoPros: Breakfast is perfect, very good combination of western and *********. Location is perfect if you are visiting Jiao Tong University and Tsinghua University. Only a couple of bus stops. Very authentic local restaurants around. Employees are willing to help. Free soda in the fridge, decent gym. Good balcony view in certain rooms.
Cons: My room was clean but shower head was loose, although I was able to fix it myself, it made the bathroom a chaos. Shampoo and bodywash are not good considering it's a 4-star. Electronic bidet that cleans you but doesn't dry you out... public baths could be a good place to relax, but it only open 4-10pm, which is not friendly to travellers who only stay for the night.
師師哥坊It's about 50 meters from the train station, with a convenience store downstairs. I parked my car in a designated parking lot across the street, which gives me one free entry and exit per day. The room was small, and the hair dryer seemed broken, producing less wind than my mouth. The bathroom had separate wet and dry areas, with only half a glass shower area, leaving the floor completely wet after showering. Even with the air conditioner turned down to minimum, it still blew directly onto people in the distance, making it very uncomfortable. For two people on a weekend, the price was 3400, a very poor value. The breakfast was average.

Cchi chiThere is a parking lot, you can park, the environment is quite convenient, there is RT-Mart nearby, the overall environment of the room is not bad, there is a buffet breakfast, and there is also afternoon tea 3 choices 1
GGuest UserI was originally supposed to stay at XinYue in Toufen for four days, but on the second day, when I went back to rest at noon, they charged me, and the room wasn't even cleaned. So I checked out on the second day (and was charged an additional 409 NTD), and moved to Xinyuan in Hsinchu. It was surprisingly satisfying, honestly many times better than the one in Toufen. I highly recommend it here.
GGuest UserStaying at the Hua Tai Hotel (Hua Tai Classic Business Hotel) in Hsinchu is a bit like stepping back into the 1980s. It’s nostalgic, straightforward, and arguably the best ”bang for your buck” if you want to be right in the heart of the city.
Here is a balanced review based on the current 2026 guest experience:
The HighlightsPrime Location: You couldn't ask for a better spot for transit. It is a 3-minute walk from the Hsinchu Railway Station and within an 8-minute stroll to the City God Temple Night Market. If you enjoy being where the action is, this is it.
Value for Money: For a budget-friendly price (often around $25–$30 USD), you get a surprisingly spacious room. Unlike many modern ”shoebox” hotels, these rooms have plenty of floor space.
Breakfast Buffet: Many guests are pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. It’s a local spread—think braised pork rice (Lu Rou Fan), porridge, and stir-fried vegetables—alongside basic toast and coffee.
Unexpected Perks: Even the budget rooms often come with a bathtub, which is a rare find at this price point. The hotel also offers free use of a washing machine on the first floor. The ”Old School” RealityVintage Vibes: The hotel is definitely showing its age. You’ll find wooden doors with traditional locks, dated carpets, and some ”dusty” corners. It’s clean where it counts (the sheets and towels), but it doesn’t feel ”modern.”No Central Heating: Like many older buildings in Taiwan, there is usually no heater in the rooms. If you visit during a cold snap in January or February, it can feel a bit chilly inside.
Eco-Friendly Policy: As of 2025, they no longer provide disposable amenities (toothbrushes, combs, etc.) due to government regulations, so remember to pack your own!
Windowless Rooms: If you book the ”Comfort” or ”Economy” tiers, be aware that many of these rooms do not have windows.
The Verdict 7.5/10 — The Practical Traveler’s Choice
If you are looking for a ”main character” aesthetic for your TikTok or a luxury spa experience, this isn't the place. However, if you need a safe, quiet, and incredibly convenient base for a night or two while exploring Hsinchu, Hua Tai Hotel is a reliable classic that won't break the bank.

GGuest UserEventhough there are some wrong messages between Trip. Com, their agent agoda and the hotel. But the hotel's staff was handling it in patients and good manners.
Also a credit to Trip. Com service team, very easy to keep in touch through data call and very fast to identify their issues. Best thing of Trip. Com was very responsibility and accountable on their advertisements in their platform. Eventually they made a compensation for the mastake.

WWu NelsonThe room is simple and clean, but the tables and chairs in the room are old and the bathroom is small. The breakfast has fewer types and is replenished quickly. Parking is inconvenient. The parking lot downstairs is a bit scary. It is more convenient to cooperate with the market parking lot.
AAnonymous User[”The anti-slip tape on the bathroom floor was inadequate, posing a safety risk, especially for elderly guests and children.”,”The shower faucet in the bathroom was crooked. While it didn't affect showering, it looked rather odd.”,”Be sure to bring your own amenities. Don't bother asking the front desk, as you might be mistaken for a demanding guest looking for freebies. Expect a dismissive 'Heh, no, we don't have any.'”,”Convenient location.”,”Ugh... I've never encountered a trash can pre-layered with multiple garbage bags before! And then, upon entering the room, I found the bathroom trash can placed right on the sink!”]
