This hostel is fantastic! The owners are two sisters who are incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. They speak both Chinese and English. You can ask them for recommendations on food, drinks, and activities in the city, and they can also help you book cars and guides for trips to the volcano and waterfalls. The hostel environment is great. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Malang.

A Warm Welcome That Feels Like Home Santika Malang From the moment I arrived Santika Malang set the tone for an exceptional stay The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and immediately offered a complimentary traditional Javanese herbal drink a thoughtful local touch that was both refreshing and welcoming They were also quick to assist with my luggage and guide me to my room without me even having to ask Throughout my stay I found myself spending quite a bit of time at the hotel café The bartender was friendly and attentive and the relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect spot for a late night coffee and some light bites something I genuinely looked forward to each evening One of the highlights The hotel offers free bicycle loans which is a fantastic perk I explored the city on two wheels and it made the whole experience so much more personal and fun The location is also incredibly convenient Right next door you will find a 24 hour Indomaret and Alfamart for any daily essentials and the surrounding area is full of great local eateries I highly recommend the Sop Soto Betawi at the stall just in front of the hotel authentic delicious and very affordable Overall Santika Malang delivers on every front warm hospitality great facilities and a prime location I will absolutely be returning Highly recommended

We stayed at Grand Mercure Malang Mirama for our honeymoon for 3 nights and 4 days, and honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. My wife absolutely loved everything about this hotel, and so did I. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. We were welcomed by Wike from the front office, and she truly made our stay extra special. She was always smiling, respectful, kind, and very helpful throughout our stay. She even offered us free activities and vouchers, which was such a nice touch. The biggest surprise was that we got upgraded to the Executive Suite, the highest room category in the hotel. Huge thanks to Wike for making our honeymoon unforgettable! The room itself was unbelievable. Beautiful views, a huge living room, separate bedroom, and an amazing bathroom with a bathtub overlooking the view. Everything felt luxurious and very comfortable. Since it was our honeymoon, the room was also beautifully decorated and we were welcomed with a fruit basket, which made us feel really special. Breakfast was another highlight. The variety was insane so many options that we honestly didn’t know what to choose. Everything we tried was delicious. One thing that really stood out was the staff. I’ve traveled quite a lot, but the service here felt different. Every single staff member we met smiled, greeted us warmly, checked if everything was okay, and helped immediately whenever needed. You can really feel the genuine hospitality here. We also received a complimentary photoshoot from the hotel, which was such a lovely experience. The photographer was great, and we even got a printed photo in a frame to take home as a memory. The only disappointing part during our stay was the Teppanyaki experience at the Japanese restaurant. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations at all. The chef only cooked in front of us without any interaction or entertainment, and when I tried making conversation, she seemed annoyed. Considering how expensive it was, it honestly felt very underwhelming. I personally wouldn’t recommend the Teppanyaki experience there. Other than that, everything was truly amazing. Even though I don’t remember everyone’s names, thank you to every single staff member who made our honeymoon so memorable. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely come back again. The hotel itself is in the city centre and within a mall which is convenient but it can get very crowded (and jammed) on weekends. The staff are polite and understanding. We had to pay 100k IDR deposit for our rooms but since we were carrying sleeping kids, they let us check into the rooms first. Room is clean but old and basic. The room does not have safe deposit box, unmovable shower head. Basic amenities are dental kit, sanitary bag, shower cap, and lotion. Shampoo and shower gel are 2-in-1 and stuck on the wall. There’s only bath towel (no hand towel). Sound-proofing can be improved since the corridor is not carpeted. Breakfast is free for kids 5 and below. Taste-wise it’s ok. Apart from egg station, salad, waffles and bakery section, the rest are very much Indonesian style.

Stayed with family here and it was a great experience as the hotel is located in a very strategic place.

Good location as it’s located near the Alun Alun (City Square), the Malang Railway Station, and some legendary local culinary spots. Breakfast was decent with many choices. While the general cleanliness in the room was alright, the furnitures and amenities in the room are a bit outdated. All in all, if you’re just looking for a strategic resting place after a day exploring Malang area, this hotel is perfectly adequate

I have an exam ongoing at Brawijaya University, and this hotel's location is just right—only 1.1 km by car from UB. Recommended. The only things that need to be improved are the amenities (hair dryer) and the lift.

the room is spacious, clean and comfortable. the staff so kind and helpful. its near with train station and city center. i will definetely back to this hotel if i come to malang again! thankss, i had such a great time here

Well, a very nice property, but it's a shame it wasn't well-maintained. The bathroom was damp and poorly maintained. The amenities were good, but they didn't ask us if we wanted a smoking room, but it seemed like the entire hotel was designated for smokers, as there were ashtrays in every corner.
