I have just got back from staying here for five days and my experience were staying at this hotel was unfortunately below average. The hotel is on top of a hill so be prepared to climb. When I arrived to check-in, it was quite late and the guy in reception said that the system was down and originally I couldn’t sort out the safe for that night, and he asked if I was able to do it the next day to which I said no, as I was unprepared to leave my belongings out just in case anything happened he did finally sort out the safe for me to hire. I was given my key, when signing in there was no specific instructions about housekeeping etc, but I was told where the pool and restaurant was I asked if there was a local shop nearby to which he said had closed at 10 pm. The vending machine within the hotel only had a few items in so I couldn’t get anything out of there. He said he wasn’t sure about local restaurants what time they closed, this wasn’t just for me checking in there was other people checking in at the same time who was asking the same questions. I headed to my room which was a studio room, and when I got there, it was okay it was average quite small. There is no sofa in there, just two twin beds that had been pushed together and a small kitchen area with a dinner table with two chairs. When I went to sleep that night the noise was absolutely horrific. The fridge was banging and making noises like it was going to blow up Then I was woken at 2 am by what sounded like trolleys being pushed up and down in the hotel then at 5 am. I was again woken up by what I think was the dustbin men collecting the dustbins. The fridge made a horrific noise all night. The toilet was dripping so when the fridge stopped you could hear the toilet and then when the fridge started again you couldn’t hear the toilet, but there was constant noise in the room and then made reception aware in the morning of this issue And asked them to turn the fridge off or sort it out. I made them aware of the toilet dripping as well went out came back to find that they had to turn the fridge off, but there was now a big puddle of water in the middle of the room, which was spreading Because the fridge had defrosted, I went down to reception and spoke to a really lovely lady, who managed to let me change rooms and told me to check the remote to make sure it was all okay before I moved in I moved into a much bigger room where I remained for the rest of my stay. On my second day, I put my housekeeping sign on the door and asked for housekeeping when it wasn’t done. I asked reception and they said housekeeping only happens on day four of your stay. This was not made aware to me on check-in nor was there any information in the room to state this, so I asked for new towels But as I moved rooms there was fresh towels within the new room so this wasnt an issue. Very basic kitchen facilities within the room. Pros: one lovely lady that works on reception, and does her very best to help. Nice smell
