Patios de Cafayate

We stayed at Patios de Cafayate in August last year & after pretty much planning our Salta region trip around a few days relaxing at the hotel, we were not disappointed. The hotel was lovely & just what we hoped for at the end of our road-trip with beautiful grounds, a really nice pool area (it was a bit cold to try it in August, but it looked nice all the same) and a nicely decorated interior. All the staff at Patios were really friendly & helpful & most spoke at least some English which was handy. One lady, whose name we unfortunately forget now, was particularly lovely and always went out of her way to ask us how we were and to make sure we were okay & enjoying our stay. The food in the restaurant is pricy by Argentinean standards, but still a bargain at the Blue Dollar rate coming from Europe and some of the best we had in Argentina (and across the world to be honest!). The meat was cooked to perfection and even deserts were outstanding & on par with posh restaurants in London where you would have paid at least 4 x price for the same meal. Service was also great with attentive waiters and of course the local wine fantastic. We really liked the free wine tasting they offered most evenings before dinner and it was nice to sit near the huge fire place & meet other guests too over a copa de vino. The rooms were also huge (we just had the basic room), but our only slight criticism is that they are a little dark, but this is in keeping with the traditional furniture & decor in all fairness. Cafayate town is just a 5 min drive (you could cycle it quite easy if you wanted) & worth a mooch around with it's little shops & some restaurants around the main square. There are also other vinyards in the area, which were nice to visit for lunch. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at Patios de Cafayate & would highly recommend it if you are in the area!

Really beautiful grounds and friendly, helpful staff. The food was really special, we loved everything we had. The wine from El Esteco winery is excellent as well. We did a wine tasting and tour of the facilities which was really informative and tasted some delicious wines. Highly recommend for a bit of luxury, especially if you were brave enough to do Ruta 40!

The location is amazing, small enough to feel boutique with all the amenities of a large hotel. The breakfast was incredible, and the quality of the restaurant carries through to the dinner as well. We really enjoyed the massages on-site (book yours!). The stay would be perfect for couples, or families as there is a great place to play and pool.

We arrived here after our epic drive from Salta for three nights. Beautiful welcome from a charming young man. This is a lovely hotel beautifully designed. Our room was very spacious if a little dark. There is a happy hour with the local wine every night which is a lovely welcome touch. The Torrentes wine is delicious. Dinner was good but always share a steak the portions are huge. One evening we had a good dinner at Bad Brothers of little plates of food. There are plenty of good restaurants Cafayate. This is a beautiful town with a very welcoming feel. Do go to the little market stalls for hand knitted items ( we did all our present shopping here). we enjoyed just sitting and enjoying the cafe atmosphere. The hotel was busy which gave it a nice family atmosphere, The pool area is inviting. We had a lovely horse ride on the estate with a guide who spoke no English our Spanish is very limited however somehow he managed to explain all about the different grapes and wines. We did the wine tour at the winery. Just a note make sure you book the tour in English if English is your first language. Pay the few pesos more to taste the better wines. Breakfast is ok would just take it to the next level if eggs were cooked to order ( fully appreciate this was high season so maybe not possible) We had some laundry done here which came back beautifully done. A lovely hotel. We set off from here to take the next incredible drive to Cachi . Do leave plenty of time for this part of the route approx 6 hours to be safe as it is mostly on dusty tracks. Another note don't leave any smart luggage in the boot of a truck it will be covered in dust!! I wondered why the doorman at the hotel in Cachi brought a broom out when he took our luggage in.

We wish we stayed longer! The property is beautiful, and the food was great. We very much enjoyed having a glass of wine while watching the sunset, walking around, or while lounging by the pool. We also took a horse riding tour around the vineyard which was a highlight of our trip. The bed was beyond comfortable and the rooms are well appointed. Thanks for a great stay!

Fabulous hotel with a colonial feeling. Staff very friendly and helpful . Dinner was delicious and evening glass of wine provided to all guests of the hotel between 7 and 8pm .Standard room was enormous with full bathroom and dressing area. Beautifully mainrained gardens and ppol.

Relaxing break in beautiful hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Also enjoyed visiting the adjacent Bodega and sampling their wines. The building is stylish and authentic. The location is great for exploring the area around Cafayate, which offers some of Argentina’s finest wines.
