Alua Suites Las Rocas

Me and my partner visited this hotel for 9 nights, was slightly apprehensive after reading some negative reviews before going. But we certainly didn’t need to be! From arrival the receptionists was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and had everything you needed! The 3 pools were lovely and clean. And never had to fight for a sun-lounger. Our favourite was the pool across the road which was usually very quiet with a bar that served soft drinks, lager (San Miguel) and a variety of cocktails. The buffet restaurant had everything you needed and was very clean throughout. With themed nights throughout the week which we enjoyed. The variety of food was excellent- even the pickiest of eaters could find something here I’m sure! The staff in the restaurant were friendly. Only slight compliant sometimes certain foods could be salty. Always a relaxed environment in the restaurant and never felt like you was queuing for a school dinner! The entertainment staff worked hard and the evening entertainment was always worth a watch. Cala egos is only a 10 minute walk, which is definitely worth a visit. With shops, bars and restaurants. And another 10 minute walk and your at the marina. Lots of things in walking distance. A mini train stopping outside the hotel going into Cala Dor which was €3.50 each way or €5 to stay on for a tour of the surroundings. Cala Dor definitely worth a visit with lovely restaurants and bars. Lots of reviews saying air conditioning didn’t work but ours worked fine. Inside lobby bar never open when we was there, assuming this bar only opens at certain times during the year. Overall couldn’t rate this hotel anymore! As a young couple was worried maybe we booked somewhere too quiet when we first arrived but there was plenty of things to do in and around the hotel. Would definitely recommend visiting this hotel… and we will certainly be visiting again in the future!

I travelled to this hotel at the beginning of June, I had read some not so positive reviews from the previous year so obviously had a couple of doubts. I can honestly say everyone of those doubts were erased within the first few days. I travelled as a family of four, two adults and two children aged 10 and five. The hotel was spotlessly clean and our room was also spotless with a lovely sea view. The pool areas were lovely and clean with plenty of sun beds and a quiet adults only pool if you would prefer to be away from the children in the other pool. The restaurant food was good, they had a different theme/cuisine each night and we found plenty to eat, the wine and soft drinks were also good and not of poor quality. The bar areas were also good, the beer was good( San Miguel) , the cava and wine were also nice . Throughout the day the entertainment team tried their best to get people involved in games and to be fair it was all good fun, at night the entertainment team were really good with the children and kept them occupied for awhile before the nighttime acts started. The hotel is in a superb location, it’s only a ten minute walk from Cala egos which has shops, bars and restaurants. Another ten minute walk from Cala egos and you are in the beautiful harbour of Cala d’or with plenty of bars and restaurants if you fancy a break from the hotel. On departure we were one of the first pick ups and visited several of the other hotels to pick up other holidaymakers, I’ve got to be honest they were all lovely hotels but none had the beautiful relaxing setting of Alua suites las rocas and we pretty much made our mind up before we arrived at the airport that if we are to revisit the area again next year(which we are) then it has to be this hotel. Many thanks to all the staff and lovely people we met on our holiday, hopefully see you all again next year.

Entertainment staff were great! Always asked if you wanted to be involved but did not push you if you just wanted to relax! All staff were helpful! Food was good, rooms were good (1 bed suite) Plenty big enough! Pools (choice of 3) Main pool and adult only pool were the best, the ‘relaxation pool’ was across the road and seemed a little dated compared to the main resort, but usable. Location was good, was around a 10-15min stroll to the main shopping area, that had shops and restaurants. Train (pick up right outside the hotel entrance) that cost 5€ for a return that takes you all round the local area and into Cala d’Or and the marina. Beaches are more like little coves and not your typical main beach but still lovely. Only down side was being told there was only an option to ask to extend your room stay or book the courtesy room 24hours before, we had a late flight and pick up of 8am and was only able to have the room until 3pm (after a long discussion) which meant we couldn’t fully enough the last day and the amenities on offer. Would 100% return - just look to book an earlier flight :)

Our first return to the hotel since Covid. The location has always been 4 star and first impressions, the public areas décor was greatly improved. We had booked a sea view studio. The room (A109) is on the ground floor. Upon opening the door we were greeted with an overwhelming damp stale water smell and ants. We were given another room for one night only. This room was on the third floor and completely different – no damp smell or ants! We were told the hotel was full and that the ants had been dealt with. They had not. Also, the damp smell and dampness persisted and we aired the room as much as we could but had to close all windows and doors each time we went out. On day 3 we returned to the room to find the cleaner had left the bathroom window open for ventilation. I was not impressed because of the security issue. I filled in my satisfaction survey that I had been sent detailing our experience of the damp and ants. The next day when we returned to the room it smelt of chemicals and appeared to have been cleaned to a higher standard. Sadly, the ants still appeared and the room was still damp. I feel that the damp situation could be greatly improved with better ventilation. Even bars across the window allowing you to leave it open safely would help. On the plus side, it was lovely to see that some of the wonderful staff (Manolo, Marga and Edita) are still at the hotel providing great service. Also, thank you to Nicolas and Mannon on Reception who were both very helpful.

I came here with my mum for 5 days and we absolutely loved our time! Here's a little summary... Room/hotel - The whole hotel was absolutely immaculate, including our room which was more like a small apartment and we were really impressed. The only thing I would say is that you only get one medium bottle of water for your stay which gets used very quickly and you have to buy more. All 3 pools are absolutely fantastic, especially the pool across the road which is much quieter. However, the security of the hotel also wasn't great and anyone could just walk in without the staff knowing. Food and drink - The food was great and we particularly enjoyed breakfast, the snack bar was lovely aswell. The cocktails were very average and a lot of the flavours on the drinks machines didn't work throughout the hotel - we found the pool bars were also shut a couple of times aswell in the afternoon. Location - You can walk to some local coves and shops, and the marina is about a 15 minute walk away. However, if you want to get into Cal a'Dor, you're better off getting the tram which comes every hour, however it isn't particularly reliable. It is a really quiet and picturesque location. Entertainment - The entertainment team were fantastic, however the actual entertainment itself was disappointing. The kids 'disco' didn't start until about 9pm and it was the same thing every night, meaning that actual entertainment didn't start until 10pm. The bingo was played on our phones and it didn't work properly for most people so it was really disappointing. Side note... I will say that the lady dressed as batgirl for the kids entertainment is an absolute credit to your team, she was making sure all the kids and adults with special needs were included in the dancing and she is an absolute gem.

I booked this hotel for a family holiday with my husband, baby of 9 months and my parents. I had read on trip advisor that there were no lifts and requested a ground floor room. We arrived to the hotel before check in time and the reception staff kindly sorted our room out early. We were on the ground floor block A with magnificent views looking over the sea and the pool. The room was clean and spacious with a huge terrace. It was my mum's birthday whilst we were away and the friendly receptionist ordered a cake for us to be delivered the next day. Food choice was good, a wide range for all, I was easily able to feed my baby with the choices we had. Location of the hotel is lovely, local beach, shops and little train that stops outside the hotel. The hotel was lovely in itself, it was nice and quiet and great hotel choice for taking our baby abroad for the first time. I would not hesitate in coming here again.

Postives ..Overall clean hotel, food OK plenty choice,night entertainment OK, Best from entertainment team by far was Max,Jorge great engery fun to watch and interacted well with all guests front desk staff excellent,3 pools great,distance from beach 10min walk same to shops. Bar staff at night great Negative points ,all resort centred towards very very Rude french,some of entertainment staff only spoke in French which excluded other ,no real buzz around pool hotel is best for older French speaking people
