Elba Sara Beach & Golf Resort

This hotel is absolutely amazing! I cannot fault anything or anyone. We stayed in a prestige double on floor 6. Room was spotless! Restaurant on all inclusive had a huge variety every day, cooked fresh. Staff fantastic! Can’t wait to go back

We first stayed at this hotel in November 2021 and it was tired with mediocre food. We have just returned from our second visit and wow what a difference. The hotel has been updated to a much higher standard, the new Adults only sunbathing area is lovely and so are all the rest of the improvements. We were amazed by the excellent standard of food in the main restaurant and there are now two themed ones, Italian and Mexican. What makes this hotel extra special are the fantastic staff who work so very hard not just focusing on one area, they move around during long shifts. It was good to see management walking around talking to guests and getting feedback through written surveys. We travel a lot and to be honest do not normally know who the manager is at a hotel. We had a couple of very minor issues which were resolved quickly. Would we return? Well that’s a big fat yes, we will be joining all the other returners. Very well done to everyone at the Elba Sara for an amazing holiday.

We stayed a week in mid-January and really enjoyed our time at the Elba Sara. The staff were all fantastic and went out their way to help without delay. We asked to change room on day 1 (our first room was on the side with minimal sea view) and reception were able to swap us to a brilliant room on the 4th floor. Thank you! Food - no complaints with variety, we enjoyed the different theme nights and also did 'TexMex' one night where we had a large steak. Sometimes could have been a bit hotter, but depended if you arrived towards end of the session. Pool/gardens - always loads of sunbeds and always clean, staff collected empty glasses through the day. We enjoyed the new 'adults only' area, with more comfortable sunbeds and fewer people. Great area to relax. Drink - no issues with the AI drinks. Choice of 3 gins, Jim Beam, Smirnoff Vodka, CruzCampo beer - no cheap unknown spirits. Cocktails weren't tried, they were ready mixed and didn't look a close match to genuine ones. The bar staff were brilliant, remembering your name and even what your regular drink was. Entertainment - live music most nights in the main bar, other entertainment in the 'Broadway bar' some aimed at famalues with kids. Nice mix, and quieter areas in case you didn't want the music. TVs with live sport in the main bar, so good if your football team is live on Sky Sports. Refurbishment - still continuing in places (some corridors were out of bounds, but didn't affect us), but the benefits are easy to see and the remaining work should be finished soon. Overall, it's the best hotel we've stayed at in Caleta and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Thank you to all.

It is fair to say the negatives outweigh the positives at the Elba Sara. Firstly, a huge positive is that the scenery here is wonderful, the flowers on display are nice and generally the place is very well kept. Another positive is the rooms are spacious, walls are not paper thin and most (all?) rooms have a balcony. The TV is also big in size. It is also nice here with the spacious sofas in the bar area and generally the selection of wines and spirits are ok. To me, the food here is abysmal. The selection is poor, most traditional Spanish dishes including paella rarely made a display during our 10 day stay. The same foods appear to be on repeat - roast potatoes, steak and chicken. Good if you are after protein. However, if you have an allergy - I wouldn’t even bother. The ‘Dairy Free’ and gluten free range is basic and poor, despite what other reviews said. You can request specific meals like pizza however this is often dealt with several huffs and puffs. If you are someone who wants salad, rice, eggs and soup - this is the place for you, but even then this may be cold. I would also like to note if you have severe mobility problems you may struggle here. Several curbs around the place, and also no local amenities bar the very expensive shopping centre next door. The entertainment is basic and often the best entertainment is head phones.

Came to the Elba Sara with friends for a relaxing break and recuperation for my wife after breaking both legs last year. Staff throughout the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful, reception personnel especially when asked if we could change rooms to be nearer reception and restaurants due to wife’s limited mobility. Food quality good and plentiful with a choice of restaurants on certain days depending on food style for the day, I.e. Italian, Tex Mex, Asian etc. Lovely sandy beach a short walk from the hotel with an unexpected surprise of Chipmunks living in the fortress ruins on the beach. Caleta town a short walk along the sea front with shops, bars and pharmacies, as required. Already planning to return again next year.

This hotel is fantastic.Staff is friendly.Location is great.Rooms are spacious and clean.There is a variety of food at this all inclusive resort for everyone's taste.Did not see any flies or mosquitoes. Plenty of seafood.The hotel is close to Antlantico shopping centre where you can do a grocery shopping too at Eurospar.The beach is fantastic. Water is crystal clear.Animation at night is lovely Kasia, the public relation officer is knowledgeable,and so helpful.Thank you Kasia.A special thank to the receptionist Daniel too.He answered our questions and was helpful.This hotel is great for family with kids as well as adults.I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to enjoy a lovely joyful holiday.

Just back from a week stay and our first experience of Fuerteventura. Great time had by myself, husband and two children. Food has been very average post pandemic in many hotels due to lack of staff so was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the food. Big shout out to Davide on reception who checked us in and out and dealt with a query we had regarding towels - he was exceptional! Very friendly, efficient and excellent service getting welcome drinks from us rather than just directing us to the table where the drinks were. Also huge shout out to the amazing animation team. We have been to many hotels and experienced varying degrees of kids clubs but the one at the Elba was again exceptional. Thanks you to all the kids club team for adding that extra special touch to my kids holiday - Niki, Aiton, Ruben Daniel and Shannon (apologies if misspelt!) The hotel has a lovely location set right on the beach and next to a shopping centre which is perfect. 20 minute walk round to the marina or you can hire and jump on an electric scooter which are fun. xx

Before booking the hotel, I checked out the reviews and was a little apprehensive after reading some of the more recent poorer ones. However, within a few minutes of stepping into the hotel and then our room, my mind was put to rest and I realised that these people are the type who will complain about everything and anything!! My family and I immediately felt welcomed. Check-in was quick and seamless. The hotel rooms were very impressive - a great size, great view, very clean and wonderful facilities (TV with lots of channels, kettle, storage etc). The bed was massive and extremely comfortable. The outdoor space was very well maintained. There was a good selection of pools for all the family and lots of sunbeds and space surrounding them. We spent lots of time at the football pitch/tennis court, which was a bonus. It's about a 15-20 min walk from the resort centre, but as we were half-board and not massive fans or Irish bars etc, and with a shopping centre right next door, the location was perfect for us. There's also a beach a few minutes walk away where the sunbeds are free, which I thought was brilliant, especially as you'll normally pay at least €10 for a sunbed anywhere else. All the staff, from reception, entertainment and lifeguards to resturant, cleaning and maintenance, were very polite and courteous. There was always a great variety of food, with a different theme every night. The fresh langoustines were a stand-out, and I wish I'd had more!! All in all, a great holiday and we will definitely be back!

We were rather disappointed with our experience here especially after having a fantastic time at Elba playa blanca last year. Room The room was big enough for the four of us but the air conditioning was terrible (we did ask for it to be looked at but it didn’t make a difference) we also asked for additional pillows as you only got one very soft pillow but they never arrived. On four occasions (11 night stay) out dirty towels were taken away when the room was cleaned but not replaced and we had to request new ones which on one occasion took almost two hours to arrive, not great when you just want to get showered and down for dinner after a day at the beach or pool. The towels often had holes in them too. We also had an issue with a light that kept flashing even when turned off but they were very quick to come and address that issue. Pools Two heated pools and one cold pool which was still enjoyable on the hotter days. The female lifeguard was amazing, fantastic with the kids and always made an effort to talk to you and make sure everything was okay. You could always get a sun lounger if you weren’t bothered about where it was but if you wanted a pool side one you had to reserve early. One day I noticed someone had reserved three pool side loungers but no one came to them until late afternoon so maybe something could be done to stop this. Twice during our stay the main pool had to be closed as someone had done a poo in the pool, the day I seen it happen the lifeguard was on top of it straight away and made sure everyone left the pool straight away. This could obviously happen anywhere but maybe a reminder to everyone to make sure they use the double nappy system to stop this happening. Food We were half board so only breakfast and dinner but there was alway a good choice of food available and we never had any issues with anything being under cooked. I do feel like it could be more organised at busy times as sometimes you couldn’t get a free table and just had to be lucky if you seen someone leave then ask for the table to be cleaned. Some nights you had to queue and a table would be found for you which I much preferred. We had one night at the tex mex restaurant, the salad bar was amazing however we ordered the steak with onion rings and cheese fingers for the kids but after waiting over an hour an a half received a baked potato and chicken fingers. Other people who came in after us seemed to be served first so I think we may have just been unlucky. Entertainment This was okay but nowhere near as good as our previous stay at Elba. They have family fun day advertised on Saturday afternoons but it doesn’t actually say what’s involved. On our first Saturday we took a walk into town and came back late afternoon to see it was a foam party and inflatables but it was just finishing so I thought we would get it the Saturday afterwards so made a point of staying at the pool all day but there were no pool activities at all so we were a little disapp
