We love the hotel’s location. Most of the attractions in downtown Calgary are just walking distance. The check in went smooth and fast, the front desk personnels are quite friendly, helpful and accommodating (especially Catherine). There are also many restaurants nearby. We loved our stay at the hotel.

The hotel was great, location is absolutely top-notch, the space was very clean, and the towels and bedding - crispy. The room was very comfortable, and the bed as well, also good sound isolation and room temperature control. The staff was amazing, very helpful. Convenient parking too, although would be nice if it was complimentary for hotel guests. Breakfast was limited, but with overall great options, especially pastry, and everything was delicious! Check out was very quick and easy, overall we loved our stay.

I recently stayed at the Sandman Hotel and had a great experience overall. The location is fantastic, with easy access to nearby attractions and conveniences. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay, making me feel welcome. There’s also a nice restaurant attached to the hotel, which was very convenient and served excellent food. The only downside was the loud noise from the train on the street below, which could be disruptive at times. Despite this, I would still recommend the hotel for its prime location and excellent service.

In downtown Calgary, the price/performance ratio is high, the breakfast is western style, but just average.

The hotel is a legendary hotel that opened in 1913 and has been 110 years ago. It is the same hotel where Queen Elizabeth stayed. The front desk upgraded the room type to a top floor room. The room has a large usable space, the bathroom is large, and the equipment is LeLabo. The gym and swimming pool are on the B1 floor of the hotel. The swimming pool is not large, but the temperature of the pool is very comfortable. What impressed me most about this hotel is the Hawthorn Lounge on the first floor of the hotel. Breakfast is served a la carte, with dedicated service. At the end of the meal, a postcard from the hotel is given to you. The location of the hotel is very convenient, just one step away from Calgary Tower and Wonderland Sculpture; the room service is fast.

This time I came to Calgary with my friends. The hotel is a little old and there are many shortcomings in the details. It really needs daily renovation. The advantage is that the bed is very comfortable to sleep on.

The receptionist was very cheerful and the room was very clean! It is also located conveniently in Downtown Calgary. However, the temperature of the shower can be a bit tricky to adjust as it will either be too hot or too cold. But I was very satisfied overall and would recommend this hotel to fellow solo travellers!

Location strategic as there are fewer homeless people around compared with the 7th Avenue or core shopping area, and I didn't feel unsafe during my stay. It's near Chinatown too. I however do not particularly like this hotel as there's no kettle inside the room, air conditioning is rather strong and couldn't be adjusted except the temperature. Nothing to eat nearby and the restaurant on 2/F requires booking. The hotel doesn't have a character itself. Most ridiculous is that they require a security deposit by really debiting my credit card upon my checkin (usually hotels won't present the card for similar deposit as security).
