The hotel itself is very good, we had a large sea facing room. which came with a kitchen and living room. It was cleaned every day, towels and beds changed as needed. The hotel is nicely situated with walks, and a few good restaurants a short walk away, up the left hand hill. Supermarkets with easy walking distance too. But that is where the good remarks end, do not go here during the spanish school holidays, as the kids take over the pool all day, with noisey music, no where to relax to read at all. Then we come to the food and restaurant. we stayed half board. So when we arrived after travelling since 3 am, it was 2pm in the afternoon. We asked where we could could get a snack, we we told the hotel doesn't do anything so need to go round the corner to a small bar. Not the best but it filled us up. Then came the evening meal in the restaurant if you can call it that. It was nothing better than a cafeterria with plastic chairs and tables. Well the food could only be described as slop. We came in the next night exactly the same, so we ended up eating out. We didn't pay really good money to eat such appaling food. Hamburgers, hot dogs, every night, with gristly horrible meat, raw sauages, rich tea biscuits in mousse, jelly cubes. Dog fish in green sauce was the piece de resistance, along with other slop. They charge £2.50 for a small bottle of water with your meal, but you can buy a large bottle from the vending machine in reception for £1.20, but not allowed to bring into dining. If we had eaten in for the 10 days it would have been £25 for water alone. Because the Spanish school holidays go on till 11th September the entertainment was aimed at them till 11pm at night. This hotel really let itself down with the food especially in the evening, as it had potential to be a really nice place. Opposite the hotel going towards the beach if you follow the path up towards the rock, there are a few really nice restaurants. Then if you go right from the hotel along the beach path, there are all the beach reataurants and the town. The old town is worth a visit, very pretty, but it is a bus ride away. To catch the bus go round the back of hotel, near the salt flats and the bus stop is there. The tram is worth a visit to either Denier or Altea/Benidorm, again catch the same bus from the salt flats and ask for tram station, they all go there. Then when you get back from your day trip the bus is waiting to bring you right back to the front of hotel. Excellent service £1.50 each way. Also behind the salt flats are Lidl, and a bit further along another large supermarket. The older gentleman on reception will point you in the right direction he is very good.

Great hotel, lovely friendly staff. Excellent buffet food, all-inclusive so bar drinks and wine always available. We were a coach party from the UK and had great service from everybody. I had room 612 which faced the lake so no sun on the balcony at any time but air still warm for drying your washing. Fridge useful, also kettle and cups but you have to provide your own coffee and milk. LIDL nearby so not a problem. Good location for walks. Loungers around the pool but water freezing so didn’t have a swim. Only thing lacking was decent lounge furniture for relaxing, only bar tables & chairs. Would definitely go back.

Just returned from a 3 week all inclusive stay with Just Go/National Holidays and found this hotel offered accommodation, restaurant meals, staff helpfulness and cleanliness above our expectations. On arrival, check-in was swift, our corner room on the 13th floor had a large balcony overlooking the salt lake and had views of the remains of two Roman villas, tower, beach beyond and Benidorm in the far distance. The room was spacious and bathroom had a good size walk in shower, soap dispensers and hairdryer. Beds were comfortable, with towels and linen changed regularly, and TV, small fridge, kettle, cups and saucers. Need to bring your own supplies of tea and coffee. All staff were attentive, cheerful and extremely hardworking in the buffet restaurant, bar and housekeeping. Always a good choice of cold and hot food (which was sometimes on the cool side, but microwaves are provided). The bar has a good choice of drinks including beer, wine, spirits and mixers plus a cocktail of the day. There was a singer/guitarist on 3 evenings, sessions of bingo and quizzes, the only thing lacking was a separate lounge area where guests who just wanted to relax. A daytime information board is available at the entrance to the bar area outlining activities provided by Caesar. This 3 star establishment is in a good location close to the beachfront promenade, good value for money and we had a very enjoyable stay.

We were looking for a reasonably priced Christmas Break in the Valencia / Alicante Region of Spain, and have used other hotels in the Port Hotels Portfolio regularly through the year, so we decided on Port Europa Calpe. Yes some of the rooms are old fashioned, and the bathrooms are too, so if you do not like stepping into a bath to get a shower, ask for a modern room. But the staff are extremely helpful, the housekeeping was excellent, we paid for a sea view room and enjoyed watching the gorgeous winter sunsets every night. The Christmas Day lunch was lovely. We liked the location, slightly quieter and a nice walk to the port as well as the town centre along the promenade. One thing I noticed was the age group are certainly more mature, and hardly anybody dressed up for the evenings. We never bothered with the entertainment, so cannot comment. But we liked the food even though it is like eating in a school cafeteria, the tables are packed together and the plastic chairs are a little off putting but we know the Spanish love to be close together to be able to enjoy each others company. Overall for a quiet good value winter / Christmas short break we thought it was very good value for money.

We were staying in room 1211 The floor and hallway are very old, rooms are ok. The creepy sounds in the night makes you believe the place is definetly haunted. Bathroom is in good condition. The elevator is a disaster, even as it is low season we had to wait sometimes 10 minutes. Yesterday on our checkout day, they were repairing one of the elevators. I gave a 5 star review to the hotel by a internal questionnaire send by the hotel to my e-mail. I said recepción is very good. But I changed my mind as later on our checkout day they were rushing us in a pushy way to say we had to checkout before 12h. They mentioned it 3 times and also de-actividated our room keys so we couldnt go into the room and had to go back to the reception to activate them again,so the receptionist could say again we had to checkout at 12h. But that was around 10.30 so we still had another one and a half hour. It gave us the feeling they wanted us out and we were not welcome there. Cleaning of the rooms is good. The breakfast is not bad. It's all very basic but an ok quality. The staff in the restaurant works very hard. Then to the most negative departament of the hotel and that is the animation. As Being a entertainment mánager myself of two hotels in Benidorm and working in that sector for 24 years I love to watch and observe my animator colleagues. To start positive, his bingo on wednesday was good, basic, but at least the few people in the bar were entertained. But to my shock this entertainer comes only to his work to do his activity and he leaves. A basic skill of a hotel entertainer is to at least smile and say hello to a customer, well this guy doesnt greet anyone. I counted, I ran into him 6 times, for example in the bar, he was also behind the reception looking right at me with a moody look not saying,at least, hello, also he was at breakfast eating from the buffet, he then looks at you and he goes on his mobile or he looks away uninterested. It seems like he didnt care and not wanted to be there. All together we dont think we will come back as we didnt felt very welcome here sorry.

We have just returned from a 10 night all inclusive stay at this hotel. We are more than happy with our stay considering what we paid for the holiday through Tui. We were on the 11th floor at the side of the hotel looking out over the salt lake and flamingos. The size of the balcony was disappointing and you don’t get much sun there but we were not in our room much anyway. Our room was cleaned every day with clean towels if requested. Bed was a bit hard but i like a firm bed anyway. Shower and running water was instantly hot! I'm glad we didn't take much notice of a couple of recent reviews posted about the food. This is a three star hotel and we found the food more than adequate! A previous reviewer described it as slop! The hotel caters for a large number of spanish guests, do you think they would accept slop! Fish of various types, seafood including paella and fideu, various meats, salads etc. I admit that some of the courses did not look that appealing at first sight but when trying them they were very nice. This is how you discover something you have never tried before! Beer, wine on tap all acceptable. A previous reviewer complained of there being no electric lights in the hallways, try pressing the little blue led auto sensing light switches! Also complaining about the derelict building site opposite?, these are in fact roman excavations and are what some would call interesting history! As far as the staff being unfriendly, try learning just a little bit of spanish and you will find out just how friendly they are! All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would not hesitate to return in the future.

Just returned from a wonderful 4 week stay at Port Europa hotel in beautiful Calpe 🇪🇸 Very spacious room overlooking the salt lake, very clean with daily maid service. All food was really good, especially the breakfast, loads of choice & something for everyone. The staff were 1st class, always smiling, friendly & helpful. We were all inclusive, lots of drinks choices & evening entertainment with the lovely Caesar - enjoyed his line dancing classes! 😊 Great spot for travelling to different places, bus stop outside hotel to the train station, then on return bus was there to take you back to the hotel. Lots of wonderful walks around the area & would highly recommend this hotel 🇪🇸
