We went to SA for a hike/bike/safari trip and started it off by three nights at Labotessa - beautiful property run by lovely people - we felt right at home even though we were 8,000 miles away! The room was perfectly designed and the staff, from the owner and manager to the doorman and waitstaff all were so kind and attentive (breakfast as superb and was plenty to hold us to dinner). Very highly recommended if you are in Cape Town.

Truly a great hotel. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and nicely furnished. The location, close to the beautiful Company Park is also a plus. But most of all it is the STAFF, including Claudine, Rachel, the wonderful people in the kitchen and the people who clean the rooms. Claudine and Rachel offer a very caring and personalized service, the sort of service which is so good, whether it comes to arranging tickets for tours, transportation or restaurant recommendations. The word which comes to mind with this hotel is “superb”.

Beautiful small boutique hotel. Service is outstanding. Great bed, sheets, pillows. Breakfast delicious. Outstanding employees. Always there to help with any needs you might have. They arranged airport pickup and tour guides which was wonderful as we had never been to the area.

We almost feel like not giving away this secret to the public as it only has 7 rooms - we had the best time. In the end we came here twice (unplanned) as we were so happy with our first stay. Labotessa is located in the middle of everything - and still being quiet, peaceful, just perfect. They know you and your preferences from moment one. In case you have a question/a problem - the team of Labotessa will guide you. It is the perfect place for business, but also for a romantic getaway. We cannot think of a better place to stay in Cape Town and would love to thank the whole team, every single person of the Labotessa family.

Our experience at the Labotessa Hotel was perfection from start to finish. It began with the very friendly co-owner picking us up at the airport and giving us an impromptu city tour on the drive back to the hotel. He shared that the hotel had just won two huge hospitality industry awards the night before, so we were excited to see what all the hype was about! And boy did we ever. The walk into the property alone is magical. There's a beautiful little courtyard dripping in greenery that leads you to the entrance. The building, we came to found out, was one of the oldest in the city (I think he said it was originally the home of the first Governor, but I might be getting that wrong...). Inside, every detail was so thoughtful and lovely. They clearly had worked very hard to maintain some of the building's classic features and rich history while updating it to create a truly luxurious look and feel. We enjoyed some complimentary local white wine while checking in, and then up we went to our gorgeous room. The elevator opened up directly into our quite, and again, we found that every detail was meticulously thought out to provide the most comfortable, elegant experience for their guests. The decor, linens, fixtures, overall room design...all so tastefully chosen and executed! Great design and luxury comforts are wonderful, but what really made this hotel exceptional for us was the kindness and warmth of the staff. We had lots of fun chats with them over breakfast, cocktails, while waiting for taxis, etc. They were all so gracious, friendly, and professional. One mentioned how proud he was to work there and how much he enjoyed it. This speaks volumes of the ownership/management and the overall culture they've created with their team. I appreciated that immensely for their sake, but selfishly, that happiness also translated to a beautiful experience for customers like us. And the icing on this wonderful cake came in the form of an extraordinary act of kindness from one of the owners. We left the hotel for a stay in wine country and in our blissful haze, left all of our cash and passports behind in the safe (!!!). We called right away and were prepared to take the 2-hour+ taxi ride there and back to pick it up, but the owner insisted on bringing it to us - which he did, that very afternoon. We tried to compensate him, but he wouldn't accept it! Unbelievable. THAT is hospitality in its highest, purest form. Overall, we give Labotessa 10 out of 5 stars! There is no other place we'd stay if/when we're lucky enough to come back to Cape Town. We cannot recommend it highly enough. And when you're there, please greet Johan, Martijn, and the whole team for us! P.S. Shoot! I forgot to mention the food!! We had breakfast both mornings at the hotel and it was DELICIOUS!!! Interesting menu, perfectly prepared. Loved our post-dinner cocktails there, too. :)

We stayed for 3 wonderful days. Rather than add to the justifiable praise which had already been given, I will add a few additional comments. The room decor is so attractive that Aine and I kept discussing it. taking photos of the paint choices, the long curtains, the specially made wardrobes and other furnishings which are beautiful yet extremely functional. The artistic decor in the restaurant and lounge areas was attractive and restful, as was the background music. A beautiful oasis. The staff were beautifully attired and, most importantly, extremely well trained. Our experience was one of being important to the owners and to Martin , and of being cared for, assisted and supported.

Labotessa is without doubt a luxury boutique hotel. With only 7 rooms we enjoyed a high level of service and attention throughout our stay with all the team genuinely interested in what we were doing that day or had enjoyed. Martin is the perfect host. We adored breakfast outdoors in the outside terrace as well as a welcome glass of wine after a days exploring. The breakfast menu was definitely a highlight - we had something different on each of our mornings. The suites are huge and full of lovely personal touches such as cheese and hummus in the fridge each day as well as a selection of beverages. The Diptique toiletries were a spot of luxury too. Ideally placed for the centre of the city and Company’s Gardens with a view of the Lions Head. Great little wine bar over the road and a ramen restaurant next door for those evenings you don’t want to move too far. It’s such a haven of peace and quiet whether indoors or out. No noise in the rooms at all and we loved the fact that the lift opened directly into your room. Huge bed with plenty of pillows to ensure a great nights sleep. Thanks so much to everyone for making our first trip to Cape Town so special. It won’t be our last.

Unreal! We booked the presidential suite during our very first stay in Cape Town, it was an unbelievable introduction to South Africa. Where do I begin. It was primarily for a birthday celebration and so the accommodation worked well. The hotel is central to Cape Town, with clear views of Table mountain. Literally, the hotel was walking distance from many restaurants. There was a brand new trendy noodle Asian fusion restaurant literally right by the entrance to the hotel which we indulged in. The hotel also has parking accommodation for guests. Right when we got into the suite, it had this Manhattan like vibe with the elevator opening up right into the living room of the bottom floor. There were two master bedrooms on the top floor with a library lounge sofa area nested between the rooms. A balcony connected the master bedrooms, which both had chic bathtubs and extravagant showers. On the bottom floor, there was yet another bedroom, this one with only a shower. There was a luxurious living room with modern art and décor and of course a majestic dining table overlooking the city center. Also, a very nice pool outside on the bottom floor balcony. The property was kept clean at all times, all the chic and modern equipment ranging from new age slick blending machine to the toaster, even the microwave all in harmony with the elegant design of the place, all functioned perfectly. The attendant had unlimited booze in refreshed daily in the fridge and hard liquor in the pantry to utilize at our disposal. There was a constant deluge of lite bites like cheese, fresh fruits, crackers and salami. We had a chef who could make additions to anything including an extensive menu, which was all included. The attendants were all so nice, detail oriented and really good at making us feel taken care of. They often gave recommendations for activities and food. In fact, Martin helped us to make reservation for dinner every night from a list we had! They were also nice enough to organize and discreetly set up balloons and a cake for our birthday celebration! Honestly, this hotel is almost impossible to trump in regard to the value. Highly recommend it! Thank you Martin, Claudine and the rest of the awesome staff! We miss you already! We will definitely be coming back!

We've spent some of the most wonderful days at the Labotessa Hotel. The Hotel itself is a real gem in the middle of cape town. We have stayed in a signature suite and the room was just stunning. We really enjoyed staying there for several nights. The staff is extremly friendly and helpful for any form of inquiry. Totally worth it! Thank you for having us and we already llok forward to come again :) Best regards, B. Yasar
