We recently returned from another two-week stay at Iberostar Coral Ensenachos, our favorite Cuban resort. We were there from April 19-May 03. It's continued to be an exceptional place, with truly remarkable staff, management & concierges (I won't mention names, even though we know them all), and generally excellent food and drinks. The beaches are stunningly beautiful & very well maintained, and the snorkeling here can be excellent, if you don't mind exploring, and the weather / water conditions cooperate (most of the photos attached to this review are from underwater at the resort, as it's kind of 'my thing'). The resort is of lovely French Colonial design, and while getting a bit 'tired', is still very well maintained. All of the elements of our villa functioned well (other than Wifi, but more on that shortly), including the AC & Jacuzzi. Our villa had a microwave & coffee machine, and we brought our own coffee from home due to limited supply of the coffee pods within Cuba. Cuba is going through a series of social & economic hardships, and dealing with shortages, though the impact during our stay at Coral was mostly negligible. There were I believe two mornings that they had no eggs at breakfast, but other than that, there wasn't really much for shortages that we found noticeable, or would have been out of place even before the pandemic. Lots of choices at mealtimes, including meats, multiple types of fishes, even lobster was available most days. Breads, pastries, soups. There were a few small negatives, however: First up was lack of internet connectivity; it was inaccessible from our villa, though they did attempt (unsuccessfully) to get it working. It sounded as though it was a common problem in many of the villas, as I only spoke with a single guest during our stay who had a working connection. It still functioned fine at the restaurants and lobby common areas of course, but something to be aware of if you need to stay connected while away, particularly if you need privacy for calls or anything like that, so you might want to investigate using your mobile phone plan as an alternative to resort WiFi if it's something you need. Second was the live music in the evenings in the small Coral lobby / dining vestibule: while the music itself was definitely excellent, it was being played FAR too loudly (at least for us), for such small spaces. We come to Coral for the tranquility, and in the past have enjoyed having post-dinner drinks in the lobby & conversing with other guests, with background music from time to time. However, the level of volume this trip made this nearly impossible, creating an almost club-like environment in the usually quiet, elegant space. If we wanted loud music, we could travel to the Selection side of the resort for that. And it wasn't just our perception, as I heard similar complaints being raised by several other guests as well. While evening live music has been an occasional thing on past stays, it

We visited Coral for the 2nd time April 22nd for 10 days, this visit was just as great as the first one. Let me start by saying if you are worried about shortages, Coral was missing a few minor things, butter, and we ran short of beer one day, but no reason to avoid this resort . The beaches are beautiful, the food was good, with a good variety. The butlers - Michael, Roberto , Dismar, Diana and Yandry were awesome as always . A big thank you to Anier and Alberto, the pool bartenders, and Augustin at the beach bar, best bartenders in Cuba The servers, Yahimi, Levan, Yaslet, Amanda, Yamani and of course Dario, always service with a smile, (I'm sorry if I missed some) a really friendly bunch. It's nice having access to the main resort and Coral, Danny and Pedro, the minibus drivers are there to shuttle you back and forth . Megano beach on the main resort side is breathtaking, you have to see it at least once if you visit . You have the option on the Coral side for a la carte for breakfast , lunch and supper, the food is good if you want to spend your trip on the Coral side, the food at the main resort buffet was hit and miss, The Italian was not so good, so we ate mostly on the Coral side, the food there was good, the burgers at lunch were amazing. The beach on the Coral side is in desperate need of more palapas, but the water and sand is gorgeous, lots of life in the water, very good for snorkeling. As for the rooms, every one gets a villa with a hot tub on the balcony, we had a kitchen with a fridge, freezer, microwave and stovetop, also a second fridge in our room. Full size living room wit TV and sofa, and a huge dining room table, bedroom was spacious, along with a full bathroom, and a second bathroom by the front entrance. Wifi is only available near the lobby and pool area, first trip we had wifi in our room, not sure if there was an issue with the wifi while we were there. Overall a great trip and worth the money, looking forward to our next trip in November. Robyn and Gary

Amazing experience This is our second time going to this resort and we can’t wait to go back again. You can spend your day at the most amazing beaches. There are two gorgeous beaches to choose from or you can visit the swim up bar for some very tasty drink options. There is great entertainment at the Coral section as well as the Selection section. The staff is another reason we keep coming back. They are so friendly and accommodating! They always go above and beyond to help make your stay so wonderful. Customer service is top notch! The accommodations are clean and spacious, plus your own personal hot tub to enjoy.

Another awesome vacation at a place we now consider our second home. The room, the grounds, the awesome beaches exceeded our expectations once again. The food was plentiful and succulent with no shortages to speak of. The main reason we return to this beautiful resort year after year is because of the excellent service we receive from the staff. In particular, Diana and Yandry, our butlers who always find a way to make our stay better than the one before. To the restaurant staff, Yasmany, Yaquenia, Beatriz, Gissele, Livan just to name a few... Thank you for your great service and your wonderful sense of humor and to Diana, for keeping everything so clean and spotless. We look forward to our next visit so we can all see you again!

We have been to many great resorts. Cayo Leventado twice, Sian Kaan, two other Gran Bahias, Cap Cana twice, two Royaltons, Riu Palace, multiple Oceans, Royals... All of which we would not hesitate to return to, and some we already have. But none offered the quality of service we experienced at Coral Ensenachos. From the late night check in to the afternoon check out, it was absolutely wonderful. Great job folks.

We have been visiting this property for over 15 years and it never fails to disappoint. After our first visit in 2008 we knew we found our forever place. We stayed from February 13-29. We arrived after 11PM and check in was quick and efficient. We stayed in bungalow 7101 which had an ocean view and was in close proximity to the lobby, pool and beach. The bungalow was kept very clean by the chambermaids. We had an issue with the hot tub but it was fixed within an hour of reporting the problem. As most people are aware there are food shortages in Cuba but that did not bother us one bit. We were there for 2 weeks out of which there were no eggs for a whole week. We always ordered a fruit platter which had papaya, pineapple, watermelon and pear. Instead of eggs we ordered a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with bacon, sausages and toast. The morning cappuccinos were delicious. Lunch for us was at the beach restaurant and the chef was excellent. We enjoyed every single meal at lunch from salads, soups, grilled fish, sandwiches and the champagne was flowing every day! Dinners were always at the Colonial restaurant. Even though there were the same 2 menus the choices were very good and the food was delicious. Luis Angel who is the manager made sure to change things up by having a gala dinner by the pool and by the beach where there was a chef barbecuing meat and seafood including lobster. He would always stop to chat with us to make sure everything was fine. We would have drinks before dinner and the bartender Alberto made great cocktails. My husband was drinking Glenmorangie 18 year old scotch ($300. a bottle in Toronto). They had all the top shelf liquor. The number 1 reason we keep returning here is the staff that we have come to know over the years. A big thank you to the restaurant staff especially Yaquenia who is the epitome of professionalism. She goes above and beyond to please the guests and of course the other restaurant staff Giselle, Beatrice, Luis, Amanda, Yasmani, and Levan. Very, very polite and pleasant people. Can’t wait to see you all again. We would also like to thank the butlers Dismar, Anita, Roberto, Yandry and Diana who we had dealings with. We were very disappointed not to see Yuri and found out he was no longer working at this hotel. Note to management……you need to BRING YURI BACK. He has been at this hotel from the start and he knows his job very well. There were so many guests we spoke to that were shocked and disappointed not to see him. We hope to see him again during our next visit. We would also like to thank the bartenders in the main lobby, Alexander and Gustavo who are very professional. These guys are miracle workers when it comes to creating a drink especially when they don’t have all the ingredients necessary but somehow they create what you order. Thank you to the cart drivers, Roberto. Alex, Duvier, Jesus, Koki and Angel. Always smiling and happy to drive us the 3 kilometres to get back to the Coral le

We had a wonderful week at the Iberostar Coral Ensenachos. The staff are truly amazing. The room exceeded our expectations. The only minor disappoin**ent was the decision not to include beer and soft drinks in our room. Hopefully management will reserve this decision. The food was good and the service was excellent. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that you enjoyed your stay. The Ensenachos Beach is spectacular. Definitely planning a return trip.

We keep coming back to this resort year after year. We love the Coral level and enjoy the amenities, the beaches, and the weather. However we mainly come back for the staff. They take really good care of everyone whether you are a first time guest or a returning guest. The butlers, Yandry, Diana, Michel, Roberto, Dismar and Anita, who will do everything they can to ensure you have the best vacation, The drivers, Elvis, Roberto, Duvier, Alec, Angel, Jesus, Koki, and Pedro, who will drive you at all hours. The gardeners who keep the place looking beautiful and lush. The restaurant staff, Jacquie, Levan, Lois, Yaslet, Amanda, Dario, Yasmani, Giselle, Leanne, and Beatrice. The bartenders Anier, Alberto (Sangrias) Augustine and Dianebey. The best chef at lunch Hyman, delicious! The pool boys Michael and Orlando cleaning the pool and making sure you have a cushion. Some people may never notice the two chambermaids at night, Lesandra and Wendy, who turn down your bed when you’re probably having dinner. They are so nice. And last but absolutely not least Hector, who does his job with a smile every day. A great addition to the resort. It is the staff that makes the Coral level special.
