I appreciate this is a budget hotel, however, I have stayed in many Premier Inns which have usually been pretty good. This was not. I chose the hotel as it was close to my business meeting, but wish I’d travelled further. In fairness, the man at reception on arrival was excellent, but everything else was disappointing. Firstly the room smelled musty and damp, I should have asked to change rooms but didn’t have time. The room was cold and the heating didn’t work. Sound proofing seemed non-existent and the neighbouring rooms noisy, so sleep was impossible (my colleague experienced the same issue, so got up and drove home in the middle of the night). The decor is tired, particularly in the bathroom. The only available socket to charge my phone was across the room so couldn’t charge my phone overnight. One of the good things about Premier Inn is the breakfast when you have a busy day ahead, but for some reason this hotel have no arrangement with the adjoining pub, and if you want breakfast there, it doesn’t start until 09.00. Definitely not recommended.
