Chongqing Xiangxiang Bieyuan Homestay Hotel

This is my second time staying at this B&B. The room was clean, and there were play areas for children nearby. The owners were also very welcoming. On our first morning, the wife delivered sweet, sticky corn to each of our rooms, and the next day, the family even invited us to their home for lunch! This time, several families and children came together, and everyone felt like they were visiting relatives. It was truly a home away from home! We'll be back next year!

I booked a two-night stay with my family, originally planning to rest up after touring the scenic area before driving home. But in the end, the situation became unbearable. Even after a poor first night's rest and a five-kilometer hike to the Tiankeng scenic area the next day, I decided to forfeit the cost of two rooms and drove over six hours straight home. It was almost nine o'clock on the first night. Entering the room, I found two hard beds covered with a thin quilt. The temperature was less than 5 degrees Celsius. The owner said there were blankets in the closet if I got cold. They were the only one in town with blankets; everyone else only had one. But these two thin layers were useless to me. Just when we were hoping the air conditioning in the room would warm up our shivering child and two frowning elderly people, the power went out before the unit could even vent a single breath of warm air. The owner and his family frantically tried to figure out how to use it, but within ten minutes, the room was plunged into darkness again. While comforting the child, we stamped our feet to keep warm while trying to calm her. The hallway outside was bustling with noise, with other guests smoking and complaining. It was stinky, dirty, cold, and dark. We used our cellphone flashlights to shine in the room while we waited for the power to come back, while the smell of smoke and cold air seeped into the room. When the power finally came back after 10:00, the air conditioning was still blowing lukewarm air, and the water was so warm it wouldn't heat up that I couldn't even shower. It was a struggle. For a room over 300 yuan a night, this was probably the best deal. After all, it was better than sleeping on the street in the dead of winter. It had walls, a hard bed, and amenities like air-conditioned blankets.
