The hotel did not change since 10 years ago, still premium materials used, but in need of small repairs. The indoor Pool needs attention and the wooden floor downstairs moves when walking on it. The buffet uses good ingredients, is a bit low on choice, but the preparation of the dishes needs attention, the cesar salad for instance is not balanced and that changes per day. Whoever makes the french fries should be fired for cooking them instead of frying. The first days the bacon was burned, the last days the guy did better, fried eggs still runny on top though. The staff at reception is very friendly, in the restaurant it differs, some extremely nice, some a bit grumpy ? The staff at the Spa is very friendly and service oriented. The golf reception is professional and very friendly, the courses are in prime condition and North is a nice challenge. So that explains the title, mixed feelings,its not bad, but with some minor improvements it would be perfect.

Really disappoint dinner. We ate there once and did not go back even though we had paid for every night dinner. Thats how bad it was. 5 hours and 10 minutes for golf also was hard to live with even though the courses were nice. Just too many people rammed out on the course. All in all it was over priced with rubbish food and super slow golf. And it was no deal at all. We paid top money.

Too stuffy in restaurants and rooms. Aircon only sending either warm or fresh air. Central aircon not switched on in April. Ants in room but staff quick to resolve . Nice rooms , comfortable. Ask for a kettle if you like a coffee in morning but take own coffee. Little supermarket for water, milk snacks . Restaurant has two sittings 7pm and 8pm v busy . Buffet style . Food not bad but queue for show cooking. Part all inclusive , drinks after 5pm . Wine 🍷 on table . Service little slow. Quick to remove plates , little too quick . Soup v tasty . Busy with golfing groups , so I wouldn’t recommend for couples in golfing season . Lots of bugs about . Overall staff a bit distant and didn’t make any effort to dunk or look happy in their work . Good maid service .lots of people had issues with room keys , not working . Could do with a better system . Nice golfing facilities .

Despite a glitch on our arrival of the suit we had paid for not being available till the next day our stay was overall good. Food plentiful and varied, rooms clean,beds comfy and good linen and towels, quality bath and shower gels etc.Spa is fab…really enjoyed our hour in there and the massage we had as compensation for our suite not being available on arrival. Golf is great, 2 lovely courses, well kept and some challenging holes on both courses. Golf shop has good supply of men’s and women’s clothing and golf accessories. All staff at the resort were friendly and helpful. Unless you don’t want to venture from the resort I would recommend hiring a car to get about. Couple of little *******…..very few electrical sockets in the rooms, had to unplug lights to be able to pug in chargers for phones. Also and prob the one that I was most unhappy about and that was no tea coffee making facilities in the room, I like to sit and wake up with a nice hot drink before I shower and head off for breakfast, not possible so that for me was a definite thumbs down. All in all though not a bad resort .

4 nights for our group of 12 playing 4 rounds of golf, all middle aged men. The all inclusive drinks started at 5pm if i remember correctly. When it was a pay bar at the pool they served pints in glasses from the freezer and a rapid service, as soon as the all inclusive started the service slowed dramatically and you were given half pints in warm glasses ! The food in the restaurant despite there being two sittings was too poor to have to queue so long for and it's definitely the first time i have stayed in a hotel and lost weight into the bargain. The two golf courses were decent, but not good enough to entice me back when complimented by the surly staff and poor service in the attached hotel !

The hotel and golf was well organised, staff were lovely. We had seen some negative reviews and felt that these did not reflect the golf resort as we found it. We stayed half board - the choice and quality of food at breakfast and in the evening was great, and as good as any buffet I have previously had. Obviously it’s not the same as eating a la carte but we knew that before we went and we did have overly high expectations- but we were pleasantly surprised. The waiting staff worked incredibly hard and were really pleasant. Special shout out to Manager “Grego” who worked tirelessly to make sure people were seated as soon as possible 👍. Also a shout out Pepe who worked in the bar, he was charming and funny and a real asset to the hotel. The golf - we played the north course twice and the south course once. We really enjoyed it. Although some of the bunkers were so big it was nigh on impossible to avoid them . We were really glad that we hired buggies as there was quite a lot of walking between some of the holes. Although there were no spare tee times the spacing of them meant we certainly never had to wait. Would I stay and play here again. yes.

Definitely not up to the 5 star categorization. Hygiene is extremely poor. Food is mediocre at best. Rooms are more 80’s than contemporary. The only reason I gave it a 2 is because of its beautiful landscape and setup. Too bad it’s poorly managed.

We’ve just returned from a golf trip to El Rompido over Christmas and New Year’s and can’t speak highly enough of the resort and especially the staff. Unfortunately my father had an accident and required hospital treatment. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and while I can’t remember all the names, Isa was particularly kind and helpful to all the family. Likewise, the restaurant and bar staff were brilliant and provided an amazing service during a difficult time. While we didn’t play as much golf as originally planned, we managed to play both courses and can say that both are excellent and provided a great test. The greens in particular were exceptionally tricky and running fast. The food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was exceptional and the bar food great too. We would all look forward to returning and catching up again with the bar and restaurant staff, Isa and the front desk staff and of course Lola, our local taxi driver, who was unbelievably helpful.

We stayed there as a family of 3 and could not have made a better choice. The rooms are spacious, the facilities amazing, great restaurants/bars and staff is lovely. Also not far from the beach and with a golf course, spa and kids club. Could not have asked for more!
