Chamong Chiabari Mountain Retreat

Very well maintained rooms with great views. People were really nice. The chef cooked food according to our choice. Dont miss to do short hike into the tea garden. A hidden gem in a remote mountain village. The access road might be little bumpy with lots of sharp hairpin turns, but its worth it.

For those who love to skip the city beat but do not want to leave the leisure behind, this is a perfect place. Location + Stay + Service all 5 star. Was here with friends, and definitely coming back with family. Recommended to take a taxi from Siliguri if you do not frequent the hills on self drive.

The location is perfect, even non suite rooms (we stayed in the Rangbhang ***or) are very large, and staff is amazing In my years of traveling, I don't think I have ever met service staff with such an amazing attitude, going out to serve to an extent you almost feel embarrassed being waited upon like that, and all done always with a smile on the face. Salim and Mukesh who also went with us down into the tea gardens where ladies were plucking leaves (it does take some effort to go down the hill the way they do!), Mukesh who went for the river Trek with us, Suparna and Akshay who served us during our meals, led by the ***ager, Tauseef. We paid a price higher than listed on Cleartrip and the GM, Sanjoy Bannerjee, said that they don't honour Cleartrip bookings (or any online platform other than MakeMyTrip). Sounded fishy but I don't have a way of knowing.

Absolutely terrible... There is no proper road leading to this resort. Once we got there the whole place reeked of menthol balls which is very dangerous to health. The views were beautiful but not worth the terrible road. For senior citizens it is too much of a climb to go to the dining room.

The rooms are amazing , food is very good ! The best part about it is the fresh air & beautiful Mountain Views . A must try , are the momos and their barbecue. It’s totally worth the drive . Definitely recommend .

Recently visited with family and friends and all of us had a wonderful time. Beautiful resort with very good and supportive staff. Food is amazing one of the best places to visit. Property has an amazing view of tea gardens.Clouds come low and has an mesmerising view. Wish too visit soon.

One of the most beautiful places i ever visited. This place has the advantages of living in between tea estate and enjoy the serenity of nature away from hustle bustle of city. A must visit place and should be in your bucket list.

Chamong is named after a local bird Chamo (which I found on google). This is a newly built property of almost 7years (roughly) and has all modern amenities you can expect. Whenever you visit Chamong, a comparison with its Sister concern, "Tumsong" is inevitable. Though my personal feeling is Tumsong is better having a history and colonial feeling; Chamong will offer you all deliciousness beyond your desire. In this trip, I felt both the property and both were amazing. Huge property, clean rooms and cosy atmosphere. Wonderful view of valley from rooms, lawns, dining area and even bathroom. Sitting in the balcony, watching clouds playing throught the valley will make your leisure like never before. Booking is hassle free and all kind of payment gateways available. Let me make this very clear to you on very first note. Whatever good you read here on Tripadvisor, is true and whatever you read bad, if absolutely false. Someone said they have 2.5L geyser. I had no issue with warm water at bathtub during my 3days shower. All employee are serving from their will and not guided by any force. I also must add that Mr. Banerjee (the owner) is one of the most professional person I have ever seen. Every de***d was taken care of. Driver Vivek was a brilliant driver. His driving skill will surely make you feel comfortable. Inside room you have enough tea bags (first and second flush), coffee pouches and be rest assured, you can't finish. Bathroom amenities are of international standard. Again I say, this property is a bit costly but at the same time, worth every penny. Chef Arjun is from Krishnanagar and he is having a Platinum arm. Prepares numberless dishes and serves them with smiling face and exactly 5min beforr the promised time. And finally one more thing I must mention, everyone attached with both the properties are a true gentle***. Normally when searched for driver details, Owner says his employee will contact me. But when I contacted Mr. Banerjer (owner of Chamong) for driver details, he said his colleague will share the same with me. The transformation from employer to colleague is a big thing that matters. And the same you will feel coming here. Spa is closed now. We stayed here from 8th Oct, 2022 to 10th Oct, 2022 in Duke and Dutches ***or (previously known as Queen Room) and they are the best couple rooms.

Great place and one of the best heritage properties to visit. staff is caring. Excellent service. make us feel homely. Cudos to the ***agement to have such trained staff. Excellent food. Chef Mahendra at his best. Property has been ***tained in excellent condition. Just one minor suggestion: To increase hot water gyser capacity in all the rooms.
