Datong Pingcheng District Hotels

I chose this hotel because it is just a twenty minute walk north of Datong South Station. It is right next to Fantawild amusement park, so is a good choice for families (Most of the guests were families with young kids). Everything inside the hotel is brand new. One of the hosts at reception was exceptional, and she not only offered wonderful device and care to me but also to every guest I saw her interacting with (I didn't learn her name, alas). One interesting note: I stayed there on a Friday and Saturday night, and there was a firework show on both evenings in Fanatwild next door. The booming sound startled me at first, but I quickly realized what it was.

The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the ancient city. There were some international options at breakfast, which was very appreciated. The staff is helpful when you ask for information. For what I have personally experienced, the hotel was super quiet too. The room i was given (308) was clean and the bed was comfy, but I must admit it was very cramped for two people. It would serve better as a single room. Also, I think the bathroom in room 308 could use a good restyling, especially the shower. All in all, it was a pleasant stay.

I did a lot of research before choosing Datong Holiday Inn, and I was not disappointed! Convenient transportation and parking, you can park on the ground or underground. The breakfast was rich and delicious, and the staff were warm and attentive. The facilities and equipment are brand new, and the decoration style is also my favorite type. When checking in, I asked the front desk lady about fun places nearby and she enthusiastically gave me suggestions. Next time I come to Datong, I will definitely stay here again!

We arrived a little early, before the check-in time, she was particularly enthusiastic to help us store our luggage, patiently answer various questions, full of intimacy, and suddenly let the fatigue of the journey dissipate a lot. The overall environment of the homestay is also surprising. Clean and hygienic is the most intuitive feeling. The room is spotless, the bedding is with a faint fragrance, and even the corners are cleaned very carefully. It is especially safe to live, especially with elderly children. This is really important. The small balcony in the room was even more unexpected. There were two small chairs. In the morning, the curtains were opened, and the breeze was blowing on the balcony. It was especially pleasant to see the street view outside. When I came back in the evening, the family chatted on the balcony and felt that the rhythm of the journey had slowed down, which was very comfortable. The most important thing is that the location is excellent, very close to several major attractions, walking or riding a shared bicycle can be reached, saving a lot of time and energy on the road. I am most afraid of tossing when I take my family out. It is very convenient to live here every day. I can save a while to go shopping, or go back to the homestay to rest early. The experience is particularly good. In short, this stay experience is full, next time you come to Datong, you will definitely choose this one!

I did enough research before coming here and saw this B&B. I called for consultation at nearly 10 o'clock in the evening and was extremely patient in explaining. Breakfast was also extremely rich every day, and it was very cozy for the whole family to sit in the yard and eat. This B&B is right next to the commercial street. You can go shopping when you go out, but you can't hear the noise when you are in the yard. It is very close to Zini and Longjutang. It can be reached in a few minutes on foot. At night, it is just a short walk away. You can go to the city wall, admire the lights, and ride a bicycle together as a family. Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple are also nearby and can be reached on foot. Finally, I must say that the aunties at the B&B are all super nice. They are very nice and kind in both morning and evening shifts. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and will stay here again next time.

Living in ”Xunyou” on the first floor, the overall feeling is very good. Clean and sanitary, the interior environment is very elegant, the tatami room is large enough, with windows on three sides, but the two windows on the outside are not suitable for opening because there is construction outside. The dry area of ​​the bathroom is also large enough to fit two suitcases, but I personally feel that there is not enough space for cosmetics, and the toilet and shower room are not big enough. We were going to the Yungang Grottoes at 7am in the morning, so we didn't have breakfast. It's about one kilometer away from the center of the ancient city, so it's suitable for a slow walk.

No words to describe the awesome and wonderful people from Renyi Inn. We arrived a bit too early and they checked us in directly, no questions asked. They brought us cherry tomatoes and oranges as snacks. They even offered us a free upgrade to a bigger unused room, however we were outside most of out trip and declined. But their hospitality goes beyond limits. Hands down one of the nicest inn I ever been too. And they have 2 lovely pet 🦚 peacocks, how awesome is that. Location is in Ancient town, close to everything, and the view is lovely

The hotel is quite new, featuring high-end, clean, and comfortable rooms with great beds. The staff was friendly and attentive, offering free water, which was a nice touch. The breakfast was enjoyable, although the international options were somewhat limited. Given that most guests were Chinese, this was understandable. The coffee was excellent, which was definitely a highlight. The hotel’s location just outside the city was convenient, especially since many attractions are located nearby. However, the only downside was that the hotel felt a bit too warm, maintaining a temperature around 25°C. This seemed to be a common concern among other guests as well. Overall, it was a pleasant stay in a comfortable setting.
