The rooms are clean and ok - not too dark lovely windows. Bathrooms modern white suite with shower cubicle only. Bidet and double sinks, Hairdryer large mirror. Bedroom has X large dble bed with a modern velvet headboard, but only 1 pillow each! reading lights and charger socket next to bed. Fresh bed linen and bath towels daily.TV does not have UK , tried to tune it in but gave up after 30 mins. Very small fridge no drink making facilities in room. Air conditioning noisy at night but windows have outisde shutters so can be kept open. Gardens are lovely although needing TLC, the pool is clean good depth, many umbrellas. Lifeguard on duty. Outside bar, bistro area is again clean and pleasant to sit in. Bar staff good. Lift to all floors. TO THINK ABOUT... Food of good quality is scarce on your plate. There are no seconds to the salad starter buffet as there is not enough food for diners to begin with. Main meals were also very small in size for example Duchess potatoes - we got 3 of 1-inch diameter. You have to choose your meal from the menu the previous evening. Still and sparkling water is charged for at dinner at E3.50 per small bottle - enough for 4 small glasses. Breakfast again small, croissants, yogurt, cereal, toast, cake. Cooked is just scrambled/ boiled egg and a hot dog. Staff watch the buffet at all times so you wont be going back for seconds. Everything is charged at an extra - Pool towels not only need to be hired but on their return, you will be charged E2.00 each for their laundering. Safe again also in room to be hired - no deposit - it is a key so need to take it with you daily. Bar charges are around normal for Italy but measures are smaller than served in Plaza in Desenzano. We had Prossecco at E5.00 per glass. Go to Penny Mart across the road on left and buy your own as well-known wines are E5.00 per bottle. THE MAIN PROBLEM is that the hotel is a long walk out of town. 45 - 60 mins ( dep on age/ fitness)in 35* heat is not good. Most of the walk is along the lake but it is uphill coming back and too far if elderly or unfit. Buses are not as regular as shown on timetable and stop at 20.15 at night to hotel area just when the restaurants are opening in town for dinner. Taxis are 10 Euros but they are extremely difficult to get hold of as there are non in the ranks and difficult to call out by phone. The hotel will not call them for you. If you are on a long trip such as Vienna you will need to walk back to the hotel. Overall a hotel that appears to be running on a v. low budget and in need of TLC.
