Great hotel with nice breakfast. Slightly far out of the action but a nice walk down the promenade (approx 30 mins) and 30 mins to the train station for Verona. Nice pool with lots of sunbeds around the pool and gardens

The rooms are clean and ok - not too dark lovely windows. Bathrooms modern white suite with shower cubicle only. Bidet and double sinks, Hairdryer large mirror. Bedroom has X large dble bed with a modern velvet headboard, but only 1 pillow each! reading lights and charger socket next to bed. Fresh bed linen and bath towels daily.TV does not have UK , tried to tune it in but gave up after 30 mins. Very small fridge no drink making facilities in room. Air conditioning noisy at night but windows have outisde shutters so can be kept open. Gardens are lovely although needing TLC, the pool is clean good depth, many umbrellas. Lifeguard on duty. Outside bar, bistro area is again clean and pleasant to sit in. Bar staff good. Lift to all floors. TO THINK ABOUT... Food of good quality is scarce on your plate. There are no seconds to the salad starter buffet as there is not enough food for diners to begin with. Main meals were also very small in size for example Duchess potatoes - we got 3 of 1-inch diameter. You have to choose your meal from the menu the previous evening. Still and sparkling water is charged for at dinner at E3.50 per small bottle - enough for 4 small glasses. Breakfast again small, croissants, yogurt, cereal, toast, cake. Cooked is just scrambled/ boiled egg and a hot dog. Staff watch the buffet at all times so you wont be going back for seconds. Everything is charged at an extra - Pool towels not only need to be hired but on their return, you will be charged E2.00 each for their laundering. Safe again also in room to be hired - no deposit - it is a key so need to take it with you daily. Bar charges are around normal for Italy but measures are smaller than served in Plaza in Desenzano. We had Prossecco at E5.00 per glass. Go to Penny Mart across the road on left and buy your own as well-known wines are E5.00 per bottle. THE MAIN PROBLEM is that the hotel is a long walk out of town. 45 - 60 mins ( dep on age/ fitness)in 35* heat is not good. Most of the walk is along the lake but it is uphill coming back and too far if elderly or unfit. Buses are not as regular as shown on timetable and stop at 20.15 at night to hotel area just when the restaurants are opening in town for dinner. Taxis are 10 Euros but they are extremely difficult to get hold of as there are non in the ranks and difficult to call out by phone. The hotel will not call them for you. If you are on a long trip such as Vienna you will need to walk back to the hotel. Overall a hotel that appears to be running on a v. low budget and in need of TLC.

We stayed here for a week, we had a fabulous time. The people are really lovely and very very helpful. Breakfast is self service and there are plenty of options and good coffee. Half board is really good, you pick your evening meal from choices at breakfast they accommodated Gluten Free options and Vegetarian for us. The bar is reasonably priced and you can get snacks at lunchtime. The pool has really good accessibility you can literally walk in. Its about 10 mins down to the lake and 30 mins into the heart of Desenzano. There is a bus service, but its an easy flat walk. Only criticism is that it was really hot 38 deg and the air con in the rooms is a little dated. I would defiantly go back and recommend this hotel, its such a lovely calm atmosphere and Desenzano is a beautiful place.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. The location was good with plenty of local restaurants and a nice walk to the harbour for the ferry. Breakfast was very good with lots of staff to clear and replenish breakfast buffet. Our room was a very good size and comfortable.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The room was clean and very big with a seating area. All the staff were so lovely, helpful and accommodating making sure our stay was the best. The pool was very large with plenty of beds and kept clean and tidy. The breakfasts were served in a separate area with plenty of options to sit - inside, in the conservatory or on the terrace. The choice of food was very good and there were plenty of staff on hand to clear plates and replenish food. We would definitely stay here again. Its a good 25 min walk down to the harbour to catch the ferries so for some it might be useful to hire a car. However the local area is a 7 min walk to the lake with lots of lovely restaurants and bars.

We stayed here in Mid September. The room we had had a balcony and lake view which we paid extra for. The room was pleasant but lacked something. Everything you needed was here, comfy beds, good bathroom but perhaps because the walls were plain and no no painting on it felt unatmospheric. The air con wasn't really up to much, it on the folloe and right in the corner but the window and rattled a lot. We only had breakfast not an evening meal. The scramled eggs were hit and miss sometimes cokoed well sometimes congealed together. The bacon needed longer being cooked. For a hotel like this i would off expected tea and coffeee served at the table but you have to use a self service machine, not great . The restoff the breakfast was ok but the same every day. We looked at the evening meal which didn't really look to much. So we ate in town. Desenzano itself is a hour walk away, quite a pleasant walk by the lake . There are restaurants only 10 minutes walk away in the other direction. These were good epsecially Rossi Rossi. The local bus into town cost 1 euro, they normally turn up but on time. When we were there the last bus back was at 8.00pm. We tried to get a taxti a couple of time s and always failed but the walk back was fine. The train station is on the bus route nd you can get to Verona and Venice from here, would hioghly reccomend both. The staff were all very pleasant and the pool was lovely. One thing we found that was missing was the lack of infomation about the area, no folder in the rooms or nothing in the hotel foyer. The hotel is a bit out of Desenzano but really it's not a problem.

This is an Italian hotel do not expect anything other than what is offered by good Italian hotels. Food was excellent with scrambled eggs and Sausages as a hot option and a good selection on the cold table at breakfast. Evening meals were of 4 courses and excellent food was served ( Italian Cuisine ) by very attentive staff. We were mostly looked after by Danielle and Anna who enjoyed a bit of banter and were very friendly as were the rest of the dining room staff. Choice of food for the evening meal was made at breakfast time and there was a choice of 4 items for the main courses and salad as an apitiser and a choice of 4 sweets. The staff on reception were good and friendly and tried their best to help. We had a standard room which was large and spacious, everything was very clean and everything worked in the shower room. Some would say the room was a bit dated which it was by modern hotel standards, this hotel is not modern so rooms are in keeping. There was reasonable free WiFi available in the rooms and towels and bedding were changed as required. The hotel is in a quiet residential are close to a bus stop and a small supermarket. Busses are a little hit and miss and the location is about 1 1/2 miles from town and the railway station. We did not use the pool. The only gripes I had against the hotel is the fact that draught beer could not be obtained from the bar in reception and that Saturdays meal was a bit random, the hotel changed from its normal choose at breakfast to a set Saturday evening menu, the food was good but a lot was sent back uneaten. I am at a loss to understand why they changed from a system that works the rest of the week. This place is a quality Italian hotel located in a quiet area with Italian food if that is what you like you will not go wrong, it is not the type of hotel that you would find on the Spanish Costa's.

I will start with the good , staff very friendly and helpful, beautiful pool, good sun lounger’s, breakfast plenty to choose from, the room we were in was a bit dated air con was on the ground and rattled it wasn’t really up to much, no kettle or method of making a morning cuppa. Maids in every day fresh towels and toilet rolls. This hotel is too far out from the centre and it is quite a walk esp when it’s warm. The bus is 1 euro and a taxi is 10 euro but you cannot guarantee getting either. There are some good restaurants 10 minutes away but it is a much quieter location. The bar in the hotel works with a hotel card not cash, then you settle when you leave.. if you want a balcony it’s 40 euro per night. Lake Garda is a beautiful place to holiday and I will go back again but this time stay closer to the resort and possibly try Simone or Garda.
