We spent two weeks at Anda Barut, and while the hotel is visually stunning with breathtaking views and exceptional cleanliness, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The hotel grounds are spotless and beautifully maintained. Wi-Fi works flawlessly throughout, and there’s a great selection of self-serve drinks available. However, the positives were heavily overshadowed by poor service and frustrating logistics. The biggest issue was the reservation app for à la carte dining—it’s simply not fit for purpose. We couldn’t book a single table for our family of five over the entire stay, despite this being a key reason we chose the hotel. We had to rely on guest relations via WhatsApp or physically go to reception, which is unacceptable for a 5-star resort. Service in the restaurants was slow and disorganized. We often waited over 20 minutes for drinks, had to search for high chairs ourselves, and were met with attitude for basic requests. The patisserie was especially chaotic. While there were some helpful staff, they were the exception, not the norm. The buffet food was repetitive, with overcooked meats and limited variety—not on par with other 5-star Turkish resorts we’ve visited. Room service was basic and uninspired, and the minibar wasn’t refilled for the first few nights until we chased it up. The hotel clearly struggles when at full capacity. Bars were understaffed, often with just one person serving, making it difficult to get drinks during evening entertainment, which ended before you even had a chance to enjoy it. Influencer Culture Overshadows Paying Guests What was particularly disappointing was seeing how the hotel seems more focused on catering to TikTok and Instagram influencers than their actual paying guests. These influencers were offered free upgrades and complimentary perks, while we—and others—were quoted up to €250 per day for a swim-up upgrade. It left a sour taste seeing this kind of preferential treatment when those of us footing the full bill were often left chasing service or being ignored altogether. A 5-star hotel should prioritize guest experience for all, not just those with a social media following. Overall, Anda Barut looks the part and is exceptionally clean, but the lack of functional systems, inconsistent service, and misplaced priorities make it fall far short of the 5-star experience it claims to offer. A disappointing stay in what could be a truly great resort—if management seriously addresses these issues.
