Tufenkian Old Dilijan Complex

I stayed here for one night as part of an Intrepid trip to Caucasus - I wish it could have been longer as I had a really peaceful night, the room was huge, and I was able to sit out on my balcony with my coffee in the morning, looking at the view. We spent very little time there as we arrived at 7pm and and left at 9am, but I'd definitely recommend. I really wish we'd had more time in Dilijan to explore the time and look around in the mountains.

We’ve stayed here just one night. To be honest my expectations were pretty high(as I’m familiar with this hotel chain), however, the reality is different. The bathroom is outdated+ plus we had a problem with the hot water ( to be honest I’ve mentioned this in the reception and they’ve provided a discount). The location is very nice and cozy.

We visited the streets of Old Dilijan complex. We did not stay there but walked around the living of an earlier time. The intricately carved balconies so typical of 19th century Dilijan display the regions historical love for fine woodwork. We walked on the cobble stone alley ways where you can see the wood carving workshops too. That’s Tufenkian Old Dilijan Complex the beautiful old structured city in Armenia ... .

We went there for dinner, the outdoor scene was very interesting with dilijan color. however, I think it's time to update the restaurant's menu, improve the service quality and skill of the waiters, and the quality of the food, because the restaurant is not very cheap.

One of my favorite hotels in Armenia, located on Sharambeyan street in Old Town of Dilijan, it has very unique atmosphere and spirit. There is a feeling you are in the movie with a morning coffee on the wooden balcony with a nice view to the mountains. Haykanush restaurant in the hotel is sooo good. Beetroot salad with tahini is a Must.

We arrived to Dilijan Coming from Tsaghkadzor, our room that we booked turned out to be on highway side so we opted for the smaller room on the other side. We found it weird that the prices were the same, still we were staying for one night and we were in a hot to go to our room, so we didn't bargain. The bed was smaller than we are used to but amazingly very comfortable, the bathroom was a renovated bathroom HQ stuff ( kudos). Nice touch for the window/refrigerator (we used it). This hotel location is very central to everything we wanted to visit in Dilijan, a minute away from the restaurant, the old winery, the museum, the market, the hippodrome, the pharmacy,.... still and although this is the best looking hotel from outside, the hotel has no good view from the hotel. the breakfast in the morning was simple but consistent, the staff were nice and helpful.

Can’t go wrong with a Tufenkian hotel. The location is excellent if you want to experience the feel of Old Dilijan. Comfortable beds, a spacious shower and proper AC system - two essentials when staying at a hotel. The breakfast was very good as well and the staff was super nice. The hotel also has several cats that are hard to resist :)

The hotel looked quite nice from the outside but the room was very small, the bad as well, definitely not fit for 2 persons. We could hear how someone snored in the next room. The breakfast was very poor and strange. It included some dishes which are for sure not possible to eat in the morning. It was fine but not fit to pay more than 70$ per night. Thus I for sure will not go there for the second time.

Stayed here in May 2022 with friends during a tour around the Caucasus. The hotel is a restored building, with modern updates. Our room was on the top-level, which afforded great views over the valley but unfortunately was also very loud, as the main road is right next to the room doors. The room itself was large, but a little sp****…the bathroom was modern and looked even more recently renovated. The hotel is part of a traditional complex, and has some interesting stores…that are worth a visit. It’s all very pretty with the stone work. The highlight for me was the restaurant, where we indulged in several Armenian treats. Truly special food…everything we ate was lovely. Breakfast was average and about what I would expect in this level of hotel. Staff were good, but there were some language issues in the restaurant…nothing too bad. We also managed to walk around the neighborhood and found ourselves in the middle of town after a short 10 minute stroll. Main issue was the road noise on the top level…I would ask for a room in the front part of the hotel…I am sure those are quieter.
