WARNING DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Absolutely disgusting customer service towards my family. I had travelled 4 hours to Snowdonia with my 12 week old baby to have a relaxing few days away in the mountains but this was quickly turned into a nightmare by the hotel landlady. Her behaviour was ********* and she really shouldn’t be in the hospitality business. I complained about the state of my room as it had brown marks all over the walls and just felt dirty. When questioned about the state of the room she was very standoffish and said you can have another room or check out, which is the most obscene thing to say to someone staying at your hotel! I asked my partner to go look at the other room but he didn’t even get that far as the lady just kicked off and said we weren’t allowed to stay there and went screaming to her husband to get rid of us. I’m glad she did as she did us a favour, I would not want to breathe the same toxic air as her!! Iv never been treated so badly or stayed in a hotel that was so filthy in my life and especially with a new born baby.

Wonderful stay for two nights for our hiking trip to Wales. Great location, comfy bed and clean room, friendly and welcoming hosts who went above and beyond, and an amazing breakfast. Would definitely visit again. Thanks for having us. Leanne & Jack x

On arrival the gentleman was nice and polite who checked us in. Room was fine for the price, I wouldn’t expect anything amazing as we only paid a very reasonable price for the night. Room was a little chilly at times but to be expected for such an old building. I’m not one to write reviews but due to the service we received the following day I felt it necessary. Following the stay I looked back on reviews and can see the attitude of the landlady is a problem for many, so this may not impact the service, as it seems these comments aren’t taken on board. We sat down for breakfast and it was empty, the landlady who was serving us made us feel unwelcome, not a single smile or polite greeting. Many people were coming in and sitting at the wrong tables who were getting told quite abruptly to sit where there was placemats. On checking my husband came down with the key, the land lady looked at him with not one comment and walked off upstairs. He was about to tell her my 5 year old son has broken a plate in the room but he didn’t get chance. I went back up to the room a couple of minutes later to explain to her my son had broken a small plate. As I came up I tried to explain this to her but she didn’t even stop and let me speak she just walked right past (as I was speaking). I couldn’t believe how rude this was as I was trying to apologise. I felt really uncomfortable and could not fathom how someone could just walk past a customer who trying to speak to them. It cost nothing to be polite.

Stayed here for two nights, It is a lovely building, and the bar area in particular is filled with character, although it wasn't really used for drinks during our stay. The breakfast was made with good quality bacon and sausage and the eggs were a rich orange, we didn't eat in the evening here but I'd assume from the breakfast it would have been good. I suppose one could argue the rooms were a little dated but it was generally in keeping with the theme and atmosphere of the building and I kind of liked that, the bed was comfortable. Everything was very clean and tidy. Happy with the service and the charge. It is a lovely village and there were some beautiful little walks and a 13th-century castle less than a mile away. The shower mixer in room one was a conundrum wrapped up in an enigma and we battled each other both mornings (probably me being a bit thick on how it works) The couple who owned it kept a polite distance, particularly the lady but would give advice if asked. I would stay there again. I could see that the building was up for sale online, so the lack of enthusiasm may well be that they feel it's time to put their feet up. If it's enthusiasm your after then pay a visit to the Gwydyr pub 100yds down the road, there are a few characters in there! :)

Really good service from the moment we arrived. Offered to dry our soggy clothes from a snowdon trip and also kept the bar open as long as we wanted on the night. Will definitely be back!
