Forest Hotel

My friend and I chose this accommodation because it was close to Crufts that we visit every year. We waited a good 15 mins at the reception before being checked in. When we enquired about the times for breakfast we were told service was from 9am....far too late for us as we needed to be setting off to Crufts for 8.30am at the latest. When my response was " that's quite late for breakfast " I was told "No, not really! " Although our room was clean and comfortable it was over shadowed by what do we do regarding breakfast? When we go away the cooked breakfast is one of our treats and to say we were disappointed was an understatement . We ate in the restaurant which was pleasant enough but had to be removed from our table just as we had finished eating as it was booked by others. ( all a bit of a rush) We enquired before we retired foe the night. If it was possible to be made a sausage or bacon sandwich for us to take with us in the morning. We were told that the chef doesn't come in until 9am so they couldn't. Therefore we had to buy at inflated prices a sandwich at the NEC when in reality we had already paid for breakfast in the cost of the hotel. We most certainly won't be staying there again next year on our Crufts visit

How to alienate your customers in one easy lesson. I went to the Forest Hotel for a business dinner. Parked in the dimly lit car park, went to reception and told them I had parked and asked directions to the restaurant - no mention of parking restrictions. Then this morning I receive a £100 parking fine. I see from these reviews, I'm not alone. You are in a tough market, your financial relationship with Parking Eye is a mistake. I wont be visiting again and I'll make it my mission to spread word of my bad experience.

To be honest, everything was really really bad. The main point being that the food arrived within 5 minutes and was stone cold. At those prices, it should be classed as fraud. Sent an email and never received a reply. Plenty of pubs/restaurants that are able to provide hot food that hasn’t been on the side for an hour.

I was expecting more of this after looking online at the menu. The service felt extremely rushed and the menu quite limited. The roasts were just ‘ok’ and it just lacked atmosphere - for the price it felt extremely impersonal, almost canteen like.

Wing Wednesday was amazing, will be returning monthly for sure ! Had a few of each flavour and would of been happy with the bill at twice the price hopefully be back in area soon on another day to sample the main menu service also very good from the Aussie waitress who was almost as good as the food

First visit for a Sunday roast and it was very very good. The beef was really well cooked and the Yorkshire puddings were amazing. Would recommend getting a side of the cauliflower cheese Portion size was really good and we all left feeling very full! Will definitely be back!

We visited to celebrate a birthday based on the menu online. We were disappointed to find the first 5 items were not even on the menu we were given. We felt a bit let down as at the time of booking we were asked if we were celebrating yet nothing was mentioned-done on our visit. We mailed the hotel the day after but 2 weeks later we still haven’t had a reply.

I love this place. Booking is definitely advised. The food is always amazing. Today I enjoyed their beef pie & mash which was just ridiculously flavoursome. My husband enjoyed their famous wings and says of the accompanying buffalo sauce that it’s the second best thing he loves to have all other his face (whatever that means) The dirty fries are indeed pure filth and delicious and anyone who hasn’t yet eaten here has no idea what they’re missing. Definitely Eat here. Book however because it’s understandably popular. I didn’t take before pics because it was frankly too gorgeous to wait but here are the after pics / almost after pics

Met friends for lunch, which I must say was average at best. I have been visiting the Forest Hotel for many years and have alway, when available parked in the small car park. To my dismay, I today received a parking fine for £100. There is apparently a sign saying you have to enter your car reg details but unfortunately I did not see or look for any sign, in addition, no one asked or reminded guests of this requirement. I am extremely angry and will not be visiting the rip off Forest Hotel again.
