We had an absolutely outstanding stay at The Dog. We were lucky enough to be in Room 4, which is beautiful and luxurious. We started the evening with a drink in the bar which has a lovely, buzzy vibe to it and the welcome is warm and friendly. Dinner was out of this world. We started with the Dockyard Gin trout and the hake scotch egg and both were incredible. The mains were equally good - a wild garlic risotto and sea bream. Of course, no trip to The Dog is complete without pudding!! Such choice, they all sounded wonderful. We were so happy with our choices of yuzu cheesecake and chai panne cotta. Our waiter was superb, attentive and knowledgeable. After a fantastic night’s sleep breakfast was delicious. One of the best breakfasts around.
