Treetops is a quiet self contained unit beneath the host's house set among beautiful gardens visited by the birds. Continental breakfast is included. The unit has a sink, microwave, bar fridge, kettle, toaster and essential utensils and a pleasant ensuite bathroom. The unit was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, the shower hot and strong and everything you needed was provided. There are nice views out towards the bay from the breakfast table and breakfast was delicious with local preserves and croissants in addition to the usual cereal, toast and yoghurts. Parking is available at the entrance to the driveway and is flatter and easier to access than it appeared in some photos. The walk into Portobello itself is not far and down a hill but parking was so easy in town that we lazily chose to drive. Brenda our host was very friendly and full of helpful information and advice to inform our stay. Thanks to her recommendations for example, we saw sealions on Allen's Beach and toured the albatross centre when the young albatross were active later in the day. We are also very pleased we chose to view the fairy penguins here as well. We highly recommend this accommodation for a stay on the Otago Peninsula.
