Lukimbi Safari Lodge

I visited Lukimbi for my third time last week and cannot speak highly enough about the lodge and experience. The staff make you feel like family and provide a 5-star experience from accommodations, service, food and game drives. The rangers and trackers (Julian and Stranger) are extremely knowledgeable and will work hard to seek out all of the amazing animals for your safari. If I could live here, I would! The lodge is immaculate and makes you feel like you are staying in South Africa and not at a hotel. You receive personal letters from the staff. I was treated to a birthday dinner that was created by the staff and chef that was beyond my dreams. All of the personal touches just add to the sightings you see each day on your game drive and walkabouts. I have nothing but positive things to say about this lodge. If you are considering going on safari, this is where you want to stay. You can fly into Kruger at Skukuza airport and taken to the lodge in Lukimbi. As Lukimbi is a concession in Kruger, you stay in the park 24 hours a day and ride on all roads (and offroad) and not the tarred roads for the public. I promise that from when you arrive, Sean and Shelley will welcome you with open arms. The bartender Lyborn will smile each time he sees you and make any drink your heart desires. The individual lodges are immaculate with views of the river in each room (and bathroom) so you don't miss an animal sighting. The game drives are an experience of a lifetime.

The people make this lodge, the staff are UNREAL! The room, food, drives, everything is perfect. We saw so many animals, literally everything but the elusive leopard. The sundowners and late afternoon drives were my favorite. The safari walks were also SO cool. We had a private pool and it was so fun to watch the animals while we were in the pool. Definitely stay here when you head to Kruger!

The staff, guides and trackers at Lukimbi were all fabulous. We liked being within the Kruger National Park and saw so many animals. Accommodations and food were excellent and we really liked the separate cabins with outdoor showers

Lukimbi Safari Lodge is EXCEPTIONAL. Located within Kruger National Park, Lukimbi is totally off the grid while providing their guests with every luxury. The rooms were gorgeous! Ours had the most wonderful bathroom with a luxurious soaking tub looking out over the river. Imagine our surprise when we came back after dinner to a fully drawn bath surrounded by tons of lit candles. So thoughtful and very romantic. It’s just one of the many special touches you’ll find at Lukimbi. Aside from the lodge, we enjoyed wonderful safaris with Darren and Michael. They were so much fun to be with and showed us so many beautiful animals and locations. Stunning! The thing that makes Lukimbi so special is the staff. We arrived as strangers and left feeling like friends. So loving and lovely. We miss everyone there and will forever treasure our memories. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the food. Everything we had was absolutely delicious! 5 star all the way!

This was a bucket list trip that did not disappoint! The service, the atmosphere, the accommodations, the food...it was perfection. James and Penny, our ranger and tracker, made the trip. While there is no guarantee to see the big 5, we did, and then some! We also went on bush walks (complete with rangers with guns for safety) and learned about the ecosystem, animal tracks, animal behavior, and more.

The moment we arrived at Lukimbi we felt at home. The staff was very friendly and warm. Our room was very luxurious and spotless. Our pool was so relaxing and the outdoor shower was a dream. We loved the fact that there aren't loads of people here so we got to know our fellow guests and staff. Darren, our game drive guide, was incredible. We encounted many different animals and got to watch their behavior, including a leopard with its kill (impala) in a tree and a lion pride going on a hunt. Darren answered every one of my questions (which were numerous) and explained things to a point of my understanding. My husband and I loved Lukimbi and would defintely recommend experiencing it!

This was our 1st Safari, and it was amazing. Over 2 days and 4 game drives we saw all the big five, plus lots of other animals, birds and reptiles. On our last drive we saw all the big five which was amazing. The staff were fantastic and I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a great safari experience.

A very well preserved place with great comfort, internet available, the attention of the staff very friendly. The guide (Marcel) and the tracker (Heberth) did everything possible in each of the games to make our stay a full experience of happiness and amazement. Additionally for our Vegetarian diet there were always delicious options.
