Admiral's Inn and Gunpowder Suites

The most beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff.A piece of paradise amid the history.Everything was perfect .We stayed in the suites and enjoyed the morning boat trip the main hotel for breakfast.Nothing was too much trouble the staff helped with every request and worked hard with the chefs.

The place was magical, the service was exceptional, the ambience, the food was delicious. everything was just breathtaking. I absolutely love the way in which they used the historical artifacts to make a restaurant so it will be worth it when you do try it.

My wife and I loved our stay at Admiral’s Inn. We thought the hotel property and views were stunning (the original building, the pillars dining area, boom and the pool) and quite unique. We were even more impressed by the quality of the service at the hotel. We found every member of staff we spoke to from front desk to cleaners to restaurant staff to be extremely warm and friendly. Being on honeymoon we really appreciated the lengths they went to to make our visit feel special. The champagne and flowers in the room and waterside table with flowers on the first evening will live long in our memories. Our standard room on the top floor of the original building was small but met our expectations given what we’d read on the website. To us, the character of the building more than made up for the lack of space. The availability of snorkelling gear and a free shuttle boat to galleon beach were the icing on the cake. A great stay overall.

We stayed here for six days at the start of our holiday The hotel is located in the historic Nelsons dockyard, and you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time We stayed in a superior garden room next to the main building which was delightful. You can also stay at Boom across the water where the more modern suites are located. A shuttle boat service takes you to Boom Restaurant and pool area. A massive thank you to Cecil & the team who ferried us to and fro. The restaurant bar at Boom is delightful with wonderful food..my wife loved the Tuna salad. You are looked after by the fabulous Sherene and the Williams sisters, Michelle, Antonia & Sheryl . Michelle I am definitely missing my 11.30 (am!!) Pina Colda ….always delivered with a smile. Would recommend you take the shuttle to Galleon beach and have a lazy lunch at Loose Cannon. The staff make this place so special. Thanks to Melinda , Suzette, Tamara, Lacovia, Connery, Montana & Codia for looking after us and anyone else who we have forgotten as everyone we met was wonderful, happy and look after us with a smile. A must stay if you are visiting Antigua

I want to visit friends who were staying here. I asked them to arrange a taxi for 10.30 pm when I arrived at 7pm. I asked the receptionist at 10.20 pm to confirm. He disappeared at 10.25pm. I the. Spoke to 4 members of staff to arrange a taxi. Absolutely disorganised and ridiculous for a hotel who claims to be ok. I finally got a cab at 11.05. Terrible service. I won’t be coming back ever.

Enjoyable dinner, super staff, great vibe. We had the special Caribbean menu though the normal menu was on offer also. Lobster Spring Rolls, a large portion of Rum Flamed Ribs! All staff were attentive and Melinda made a point of having a chat with us when service had calmed down which was lovely. There was a steel band playing throughout which was an added bonus. I thoroughly recommend this place!

Just came back from an amazing week at Admirals Inn with my family of 3 college/teen boys. The property is beautiful. It's English Countryside meets Carribean feel. The Inn is steeped in history with beautiful views of the English harbor. We stayed in 2  gunpowder suites with patios overlooking the harbor - rooms were big and cleaned beautifully every day. The property was not overcrowded at all - we were always able to get a chair at the pool. What makes the Admirals Inn truly special is the fabulous staff. Everyone conveys happy, positive energy and they are all working so hard to make your stay great. Montana, Shama, Katerina, and Shenice helped us plan every detail before we arrived and then all our changes and needs when we got there :) We wanted to have Cordelia and Antonia come home with us because we loved seeing and talking to them everyday so much at Pillars :). Melinda, Sherene, and Cheryl were also so wonderful to us at Pillars and Boom. Reggie making us amazing drinks and a just a joy to speak to. The best bonus was to get tenderdered back and forth by Deshawnti and/or have him serve us with a beautiful smile at the pool. Paul happily driving us back to the Boom side anytime needed after tender hours. Bottom line is everyone who works there exudes happiness and great vibes. Pillars and Boom were great. Favorite restaurants outside the the Inn: Colibri (ate there 2x), Le brasserie, Maia/South Point, Loose Cannon for lunch on the beach. (all walking distance or a tender ride)

The hotel grounds are very pretty and I loved the design and decor: a mix of old and new. The staff was very friendly. I only stayed one night so only got to experience lunch and breakfast. The food was fine. I didn't think the food was above average. I loved the boat taxi that took you to the other side of the hotel. My room was in the main part of the hotel. It was clean, the bathroom was nice and the bed was comfortable. Down side was that there was evidence of damp on the walls and especially in the wardrobe area (pics attached) which I know can be expected when being so close to the water, but something I would note to the hotel to address. Unfortunately, whilst I was there, the Internet was down for the whole morning, so I couldn't get any work done. Overall a good experience and I would stay at the hotel again.

We stayed in the Admiral’s Inn and the historical links were overwhelming. Access to Nelson’s Dockyard was a real plus especially during the December superyacht week. Lovely staff, great food and a fabulous location. The pool at the Gunpowder Suites side was perfect. The boat between the two is reliable and quirky. A great selling point for the venue. Well done to all the staff. We absolutely loved it. 🇦🇬👌
