We visited Crete at the end of August 2021. The hotel is small but has everything needed: - All inclusive (meals three times per day + free drinks like in Turkish/Egypt hotels) + you could order a pack with you - Free Wi-Fi in the room - Parking zone - Great sea shore in 7-10 minutes far from the hotel (+transfers to the beach from the hotel) - A small pool (but never tried one) - There also a couple of great restaurants on Damnoni beach There were some cons: - Hotel is a bit far from the airport - Strange smell in the bathroom - You need to get up early so you can have more variety for the breakfast :) All of that could make you stay calm and peaceful. But if you want to visit other parts of the island you could take a few tips below. There is a bus station in Plakias (20-25 minutes far from the hotel) - you could get to north island from there. And there is Preveli not far from the hotel (you could get round trip ticket on a boat for €15 from Damnoni beach). It’s more convenient to discover island with a car (there is car rent not far from the Damnoni beach or you can do it directly from the hotel). That could upgrade you trip experience to whole new level! Crete is great island with delicious food and interesting places to visit (like Kournas lake or Episkopi beach). The north part of the island is more lively and active with beautiful big beaches while the south one is more quiet and calm with a small cozy bays. Enjoy your stay on Crete!

The hotel is under construction while they sell online rooms. We booked on 29th of May and till 5th July they did not even inform us regarding the fact that they will not provide accomondation. We reached the hotel after our reservation driving 1 hour from Rethymno town and they did not even apologize for not having an available room for our reservation.

Food which leaves more than to be desired, very little choice and above all this impression of recovery between each service… Coming to the staff, they are not welcoming (no hello or even a smile each time we passed the entrance hall). The “manager” has no benevolence or empathy, it is clear that for him money is much more important than the well-being of customers. He literally kicked us out when we left!! This is a deplorable attitude for a 4-star establishment supposed to satisfy its customers… to avoid!!

Pretty monotonous, but there is plenty to choose from and what to feed both adults and children. The hotel has a small private beach. Good sun loungers and umbrellas, enough space for everyone. The entrance to the sea is gentle, comfortable. Walk to the beach not far, about 10 minutes at a leisurely pace. The water is clean and at a comfortable temperature. There is no sweltering heat even in August. The temperature is very comfortable. On the first day there was a very strong wind, almost a hurricane. But by morning he calmed down and the rest of the days were completely calm. Pros: Gorgeous nature of island Greece, gentle sea, pleasant hotel staff, good internet. Cons: Quite a long drive from the airport. In general, we are very satisfied with the rest, we definitely want to return to these places again.

We were in this hotel at the beginning of September 2021, took a tour for four (three adults + a child), for some reason the travel agency misled us. when paying for the tour, the cost of a 4-bed room per person was more than in a tour for three, that is, it could be assumed that the room for the tour for four was either 2-room or just very large, but upon arrival it turned out that the room was the right size not much different from a 3 bed (actually just another bed added). In general, this hotel is characterized by a very friendly attitude towards the guests - they all try to make your vacation unforgettable! And the hostess Galina, and the hotel guide Elena, and the chef, who prepared a delicious heart-shaped cake for our holiday, do everything, and even a little more, to make you want to come to SOKOL again and again! For example, we are one hundred percent planning to visit this hotel more than once! It's about treating guests. Now about the hotel itself: the rooms are all just after renovation, there are no “tired” ones. The cuisine is wonderful (more European than Cretan). A More beautiful sea than the Libyan, I personally have not seen.
