The rooms are beautiful the location it self took my breath away, people who work there are very nice and friendly everything was neat and clean, and even much better if you go there during summer with three pools to keep you refreshed and cool

Macaron Guest House is located just off the Main Street in Franschhoek which is a perfect location for exploring the wine region. The guest house is set in the most beautiful gardens with a swimming pool and comfortable sun beds. Breakfast is freshly cooked for you every morning with a selection of fruits and breads too. Our room was perhaps not one of the nicest ones, situated closest to the entry gate, but we understand there are better rooms, so would have no hesitation in staying again. All in all we had a lovely stay and very good value for money too.

Macaron is the perfect boutique hotel situated in the middle of town albeit in a side street so that noise levels are very low. The place is historical and has a lot of charme & character, the rooms are tastefully decorated, the beds are comfortable and all amenities are available. Breakfast is served outside if the weather allows and is super tasty. Staff are very friendly and helpful - I can't recommend this place enough!!

We have visited Franschhoek for the last 12 years. We stayed at Auberge Bligny(now the Macaron) for two years with a now retired couple -it was beautiful. We went the year after to find the new owners had ruined the place and we checked out and stayed at another guest house for 6/7 years until that came under new ownership last year. We went to visit Macaron last year and the Manager Nadia showed us around and we immediately booked it for this Feb’2024. Macaron, under the management of Nadia, has now been transformed from the previous owners to rediscover its charm with beautiful clean modern bedrooms, landscaped gardens and pool area, excellent breakfasts and wonderful staff. The manager, Nadia, is very proud of the guest house and she constantly demonstrates this with her energy and work ethic which she conveys to her team and to the way she cares for her guests. We have already booked for 2025 and so looking forward to staying at Macaron again with Nadia and her lovely team.

The accommodation is lovely, large and spacious, great pool area and sun loungers. Breakfast is fabulous, great choice and very tasty. The staff are super, very attentive and helpful. Location is perfect everything in Franschoek on your doorstep, it is so quiet and tranquil you wouldn’t know how close to the town you are. Will definitely stay there again.

Very pretty gardens and pleasant pool area. Friendly staff. Very comfy bed. However, our stay was spoiled by not having any water to shower in the morning - for 3 days! We were in the loft room no 7. I expect the water pressure was not strong enough to cope with guests all showering at the same time. Having paid 18,180 Rand (£758) for 4 nights we thought this was unacceptable. Also the bathroom door wouldn't open/close without getting shut in! Not the guest house fault but dogs barking over the road at 0630 was incredibly annoying. We won't be back!!

Our second time visiting and once again we were not disappointed. Wonderful service and comfortable accommodation. Fantastic location in the heart of town with easy parking. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Sightseeing ideas, guidance in relation to eating and drinking. Thank you and the team for everything. We will definitely return. Stuart & Jan

Loved our 2 night stay at Macaron. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Franschhoek. Staff are particularly nice - nothing is a problem. Location is perfect. - its in town but doesn't feel at all like being in town. Delicious breakfast
