I recently stayed at the hotel with a room on the 1st floor. The noise from the rooms above was too much on ocassions which made it difficult to sleep. I recommend booking a room on a higher floor.

Amazing breakfast and view, problem there is no bar. You have to go into restuarant and carry your drink yourself to a lounge that is full of families and children playing games. Need to let part of the restuarant be for cocktails before dinner service.

We stayed 6 nights at St Aygulf. Our room was very good but the bathroom was rather cramped with a separate toilet. Breakfast was excellent and well stocked. The Restaurant was good although the waiting staff were not attentive. Prices were fair. The car park gets very busy but there is the opportunity for overflow into a nearby sister property. Other food opportunities close by are a bit mixed, there plenty of 'eateries' but few 'restaurants' within walking distance

Very nice hotel with clean and well equipped rooms, even tho a bit tiny. The hotel has all the necessary services and a good restaurant. Not extremely happy about the restaurant and reception staff tho.

lovely hotel in great location by the river and sea, next to a nature reserve and yet next to cafes, restaurants and facilities. Love van der Valk hotel group standards so we felt confidence in booking with them. The restaurant was good and the set menu competitively priced,

Very well located seaside hotel with a fantastic room view. We loved the room with the view but the air conditioner on the balcony was very loud. Our family trip we enjoyed very much and the breakfast in the morning on the veranda was very nice. The staff was very nice and friendly.

1. The in-room wi-fi is very poor in this hotel. Impossible to do most tasks other than basic email without attachments. 2. On checking out, having pre-paid my room for one night with breakfast (arrival at 23.00, departure next day at 9.00) receptionist started to quiz me about whether I had asked for a "sea view" room. She was unaware that at this location by 18.00 it is dark. When questioned she stated that she wanted to find out whether I had ordered a sea-view room so that she could me an extra €20, Had she checked my on-line reservation at this hotel's website it stated: late arrival at 23.00. Having overly ambitious and stupid receptionist provides needless aggression. I was expecting "have a nice day".

We stayed as a family of 8 for 9 days. Hotel is lovely and rooms although on the small side are very clean with fantastic housekeeping staff. On the downside there are no longer and hotel sunbeds on the beach and as there is no pool you have to bring your own beach towels and chairs to sit in the sun. Also we found service in the restaurant very poor during my father’s birthday dinner which was very disappointing. All in all a lovely hotel but restaurant service could be better

The hotel is lovely - fairly basic for the price but clean and well presented. The location is perfect for the beach and still within easy walking distance to the town centre. Hotel staff are very welcoming and friendly and the service is excellent. Whilst we didn’t eat in the restaurant, the food looked very good. We upgraded our room to a side sea view and were pleasantly surprised at the great view of the ocean from our small balcony. The only negative comment to make - and this is not a criticism of the hotel - is that directly across the road from the hotel is an outdoor nightclub/bar which plays loud music until the early hours of the morning. At closing, the noise of those leaving - shouting, screaming etc. woke us both up every night around 3 or 4 am. Whilst there is nothing the hotel can do about this, it is worth bearing in mind if you opt for a front facing room. To add - this will not deter us from revisiting.
