Orchardleigh Estate

We had our wedding at Orchardleigh House back in February 2024 and it was the perfect day! Annamarie, our wedding coordinator, was so lovely, couldn’t do enough for us, and was incredibly flexible and patient (with even my most outlandish requests). On the day, Annamarie blended in like a member of our family, but also made sure that everything ran like clockwork. The entire staff were so kind and professional, particularly the late night bar staff (making all sorts of shots for us with energy and enthusiasm until 2am!). When I came down the stairs from the bridal suite to leave for church, all of the staff were lined up to see me off, and it was beautifully emotional. The food service was prompt and delicious and we had a free bar, which was reasonably priced and went down so well with our guests. There was loads of food and drink! When we had a few minor weather related issues, the staff were very quick to fix them, and seemed to genuinely care than all our guests were happy and having a wonderful time. We are so glad we chose Orchardleigh. There is a reason that lots of people who attend weddings here go on to book their own wedding here!

Threlfall Wedding. We have just had our daughters wedding, at Orchardleigh Esate and it was the perfect venue.The staff were outstanding, particularly Rachel the wedding planner, who pulled it all together to make the day relaxed and enjoyable. What a venue - The Threlfall Wedding weekend was a great occasion and the staff went out of their way to help make it so special. Thanks particularly to Rachel who seemed to pull all the strings at the right time. The House is a bit shabby chic in places but that adds to the character - it’s certainly not a corporate hotel vibe! Walking around the grounds an added bonus as was the mammoth game of snooker on the huge table and the sitting in the drawing room just chatting with open fires. What would make it excellent…? Better coffee (Nescafé instant really does not do you justice!)

We just had our wedding at Orchardleigh 20th January 2024 and we could not have asked for a better day. Rachel our wedding coordinator was incredible and the whole weekend was fantastic, we couldn't thank her enough and recommend her service enough. From start to finish the staff were outstanding, Kim in particular was excellent at organising the wedding breakfast and the food was perfect. I didn't feel a single ounce of stress the day before or during the wedding and that was down to the meticulous planning from Rachel. The owners even came by the say congratulations after the ceremony but then left as they didn't want to disturb us. The Bonita suite was stunning and we were gifted some champagne as part of my morning which was a lovely gesture. A reason why we went for Orchardleigh was partly for the January deal they were offering which was just a fantastic deal which I hope they do again for other couples to enjoy, but mostly because the House itself felt like you were transported to a weekend away in the country in the 30's. The house is old, yes, but feels like nothing I've ever experienced before in a good way and this was echoed by the amount of 'oh wow's' we heard from our guests. If you are wanting a wedding in a really different setting, with the most incredible scenery and vibe then you need to look at Orchardleigh. We would pick this venue over anything else in a heartbeat and genuinely wouldn't have changed anything...minus a few overly 'wedding cheesy' songs in the playlist their in house DJ played! I have just celebrated my 40th birthday at Orchardleigh Castle with friends and we had the most wonderful stay. The accommodation and grounds are stunning and really have the wow factor. Samantha has been so helpful and made our time there very special. The hot tubs and views were amazing and I really can't think of a better way to spend a birthday! If I ever get married again then I wouldn't look anywhere else!

What a wonderful magical Christmas break. This is a unique special place with special people running it. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Cosy and friendly ambience, the owners Chris and Heather and their staff welcomed us all as part of their family. The mansion house was full of charm and character and beautifully decorated for Xmas and had open fires. The food was plentiful and of high quality. Lots of lovely guests and new friendship were made in part due to the relaxed happy environment. We had plenty to do with a quiz, snooker, helicopter and car rides over the estate, clay pigeon shooting, a disco and lots of time to chill and enjoy the festivities.

I had an amazing time this Christmas, the house (mansion) is a beautiful historical house with an ambiance of a friendly relaxing place to stay. I booked into the accessible room which was spacious and welcoming. The ensuite was large with a wet room which was perfect for me. I have read another review from my stay and it does no justice to the entire experience. The house is old with character and people need to keep this in mind, also guests were fed breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner across 4 days at Christmas! Our hosts Chris and Heather couldn't do more for their guests. Very attentive and friendly as were all their staff. The food was amazing every day. I will definitely be going back.

We stayed at castle west for Christmas at a cost of £900 a night We are very disappointed in the way the place was given to us , mold in the bathroom , cobwebbs evey where , fire not cleaned out , no tea towels, drains blocked only can take shower for 2min as water goes over the sides and floods , out door heaters do not work , not enough pillows , floor not cleaned , not enough forks as 12 of use and only 8 in the cutlery draw , out door torch did not work spoke to cleaner she said she would bring new one but never saw her again , PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU BOOK AS YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED

Stayed with family for Xmas 2023 in Castle west . For £900 a night we would would of expected more. To start Shower didn't drain so flooded Bathroom, Toilet seat was falling off, Plates was dirty so had to re wash , Fire needed to be swept as smoked out the whole house and set fire alarms off. Mold all around window seals, Dust and thick cobwebs all around light fittings, Out door heating didn't work, Pull out bed in living room was a double bed but had a single duvet inside a double bed cover. Upstairs taps sounded like they were going to blow up , Cutlery for 5 people when 12 people staying so had to go to main house Xmas day and get more cutlery. Torch provided didn't work (Pitch black outside) 1 Bin Big, Not clean at all had to clean premises our self. Positives. Nice and hot Nice location. Not worth £900 a night Had a cleaner night in a travel lodge Bin didn't work had to take bin lid off to dispose of waist
