Tenuta Sant'Ilario

We had a simply wonderful experience at Tenuta Sant'Ilario! The team that welcomed us is extremely polite and attentive, from reception, breakfast and cleaning. The facilities are wonderful and the restaurant is without a doubt where we ate the best food in all of Italy.

Villa was very cozy and nice! The room was elegant and you feels like in the castle. The staff was very kind and helpfull. The breakfest was superb!🥰 The bruschetta with tomatoes was perfekt! Everything looks very authentic!

Me and my husband stayed here during our honeymoon and we are super happy with our visit. The whole place is very clean, beautifully decorated, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Everyone working there were always smiling at us and they all know good English. The breakfast was very good and they were able to serve me, who has coeliac, gluten free options. The area around the villa is fantastic to explore, and there are many cute and cozy places to sit down at, especially the terrace. The pool area was also great. The restaurant located next to the villa had excellent food, also with gluten free options, and the staff was very nice. The Villa sell their own wine, some snacks, and other drinks at the reception which was a very nice service for when you don’t want to go anywhere but just relax around the villa. We made a mistake of not renting a car and thought it would be easy to walk by foot to the village nearby and other places, but realised that it wasn’t very easy especially in night time. It was a good hike though from the villa to to Gambassi, but bring good shoes. However, the staff from the reception were so kind and helpful with finding us a driver and explaining to us how to best get to certain places. The staff were also super quick with responding to our messages both before and during our visit which felt safe and helpful. Me and my husband had such a good time here. The excellent service and quality of this place made our honeymoon perfect. A big plus point was the bottle of sparkling wine that was waiting for us in our room when we arrived the first day. We will definitely come back, and I would recommend visiting the villa to everyone. //Beata & Will

A wonderful 12 days staying at this fabulous residence. We arrived during the hottest few weeks of the year, with temperatures reaching almost 40 degrees. The setting is the perfect spot. Panoramic views across the Tuscan countryside. We were located in the main building, a spacious room, well presented and spotlessly cleaned every day. Each morning we woke to a sumptuous fresh breakfast. Full continental and freshly baked, with pastries, fruit, yoghurt, scrambled eggs and cured meats. Plus of course fresh coffee, which after the first day, was prepared just to our liking without asking. The pool area is a few minutes walk from the main building and is lovely. Again, spotlessly clean and with great views. The property is spread over several acres. Rooms are in the main building, by the reception and breakfast room. The apartments and villas spread around the estate. The team in reception are so helpful. When we were a little too hot in the room, providing extra fans. (It was unusually hot, 10 degrees more than normal). When we needed local guidance, they provided it. So friendly from start to finish. Anything to consider? The road down to the property is rough so if you arrive in a low slung sportscar, beware! Otherwise its all good! Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, all within half an hour. Florence and Pisa only a little further. The two nearest towns also very lovely and with some great places to eat and drink. A great base to explore this region of Italy from if you want to stay in one place. On leaving our hosts left us with a lovely parting comment. We were continuing travels towards Pisa, they told us 'whilst you are in Italy you remain our guests, if you need anything please do get in contact'. Thoroughly recommend.

gorgeous accommodation/estate with amazong views surrounded by beautiful nature! super nice hosts, delicious breakfast, calm and very relaxing atmosphere... perfect for a tuscany stay ... and "in the centre" of all important sightseeing spots :) highly recommended.

Great place, difficult driving access but enjoyable

Tenuta Sant’Ilario offers everything you look for in Tuscany: a gorgeous, authentic estate, amazing views, adorable staff and above all: excellent italian cuisine and wines. We’ve booked a room for 3 nights as a getaway right before we get married back in Belgium. At arrival we got offered an upgrade to their suite room as a gesture for our big day ahead! The room was amazing and the cleaning came by every day to change towels and make up our bed. Breakfast was served by the sweetest lady who made sure we never ran out of anything. Not only did we enjoy the beauty of the property (I mean, who wouldn’t want to sit by such a nice pool?), but we also had dinner at Trattoria Sant’ilario (the restaurant of the estate) every night of our stay! I can say: it did not dissapoint! The staff were extremely kind a polite, the food was absolutely delicious (traditional italian cuisine, but served with a little more modernity than usual) and their housewine exquisite for such a modest price. We were happy to be able to try most of the menu. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family and will gladly come back whenever we are back in Tuscany. My wife and I stayed here during our hike on the Via Francigena. Our experience at Tenuta Sant'ilario was absolutely fantastic. While the property was beautiful and the views were incredible, it was the service that stood out. PJ, Barbara and the rest of the staff went our of their way to make sure all of our needs were met and our expectations were exceeded.

Location is awesome but service ruined our experience. Very rude and arrogant people that don’t wish to work with you in solving your problems. Stayed 3 days and no one cleaned the garden or rooms. Food was poor and staff was acting like they had to endure your stay there. Don’t go if you want to relax and have fun.
