Nice hotel and good experience in Gero. The hotel does not have too many facilities but hot spring is ok. Location is right next to the station, very convenient.

The stay in Mutsumikan was very good. The Hotel (Ryokan) is very close to the train station. To the center of Gero it takes roundabout 5 minutes by foot. The experience seemed very authentic. Most of the staff understand basic english, so communication was never an issue. Our room was very clean and tidy. Everything you need for a 2 night trip was there. The outdoorbath was pretty small, but that was never an issue with the amount of people staying there. Breakfast and dinner were in a japanese style and very tasty, but maybe not to everyone's palate. Overall the stay was pretty good and I would stay there again.

The service is good, from the front desk to the cleaning staff, everyone is smiling

I took a walk after dinner that night and went to a hotel. I went in and took a look. It was beautiful and big, but it looked like a supermarket, surrounded by customers wearing kimonos. The Mukan is relatively small overall, and the hot springs are relatively thin and few. But there are not many guests, so it is quiet and exclusive for the hot springs.
The only drawback is that you have to check out at 10 a.m. It would be better if it was an hour later.

The location is 3 minutes walk from Gero Station. It is a small-style hot spring hotel. Although there is no in-room hot spring, there is no one else in the public hot spring most of the time. Dinner and breakfast are both generous.
