Hotel San Miguel

We stayed at this hotel for the weekend during the Cometcon in Gijón, and it will definitely be a contender in the future! Arrival at reception was lovely. The lady there helped us with all of our requests, and was so kind and helpful. Check-out went similarly, including holding our suitcases for the afternoon. They were also very helpful every time we needed a taxi, and were happy to call one for us. The room was also lovely, with a window overlooking the street, that I was surprised at how quiet it was, considering it's central location. The bed was super comfortable, although I would have liked some firmer pillows. Breakfast was included, and it can be eaten at the cafe, or brought up to your room. We did both. My friend would go down and eat his there, and bring mine up for when I lazily decided to get up. There were bookshelves in the hallways leading to our room, with an amazing variety of fiction and non-fiction. What really stood out to me is how PRETTY this hotel was. All the decor was in such good taste! Also, this is a pet friendly hotel, so I met a LOT of very gud bois during my stay there.

There was no air conditioner at this hotel - which I missed when making the booking but the staff were able to find me a fan to cool the room down. I could smell that there had been pets in the room before me - which was a little unpleasant but not unbearable. On ******* the property lists as having laundry facilities but when I asked to use them I was advised that this wasn’t the case so perhaps it needs to be updated to reflect accurate amenities . A good location only one block from the beach in a quieter part of town

An excellent hotel with a bright and a fresh decor. The staff are helpful particularly in helping with parking our car ..which can be a problem in the area where the hotel is located. It’s location with regards to the beach, dining and sightseeing is perfect.

Great service at one of the coziest environments I've been in years in Gijón. You can feel immediately the efforts behind the handcrafted woods and african textiles the owners are using to design the atmosphere themselves to make you feel like home. Definitely a place to have a great rest or read a nice book after a great day of beach, surf and asturian gastronomy. Definitely on my list for the next visit! Wish so many owners have the same philosophy! Thanks
