I do not usually give a review unless the place is great or very bad. First, I want to thank the staff, they were trying to do their best and very helpful and always friendly. I was surprised to find that this place was built in 2015...looks like 1990s because there has apparently been no real maintenance...they just try to fix broken things without a real fix...this is not the fault of staff, its the fault of management. The main courtyard was a big pool...it leaked so they covered it with wood boards.. which are now warped and dangerous. Over 4 days we had no hot water twice. The air conditioner was set to 16 but felt like 27 so had to shower midnight to be more comfortable. Seems cant be fixed as its a lack of electric current to the unit. I dont really care but asked for TV to be fixed. Engineer came but just said it doesnt work. There is a phone in unit, but its a teaser. It doesnt work and cant work. So if you have an issue you must walk to front area from your cottage. Site used to be a lake (I was told) thus constant mosquitos, even in this dry season. This is somewhat to be expected but the issue is that the wood doors to the open bathroom leave large gaps for mosquitos to enter. We had to hunt the unit each night killing a dozen or so bloodsuckers in the unit. Eventually we just burnt a mosquito coil inside the room. Breakfast is normal buffet but there is no organization when you order an omlette so you wont get yours unless you stand and supervise the process. I only mention this point as it is somewhat representative of the lack of management, not a negative on the actual staff. Overall I would recommend you avoid Gili T unless you are a party animal but thats another story. While there are loud hotel/clubs even on the West side of the island, at least this location is relatively quiet. Finally, dont try to walk to the hotel from the port; its about one hour in hot sun. Your cost for horsecart should be fixed at 150K rupiah, dont pay more.
