Glenfinnan House Hotel

We were looking for an experience like no other in Scotland and certainly Glenfinnan House Hotel provided in every way! The place and location were absolutely beautiful and our room could not have been better with exquisite views of the loch and even a glimpse of Ben Nevis as the weather was outstanding! The dinner was truly one of the best I have ever had...I had the monkfish tagine...incredibly prepared and such a rich taste -- absolute yum! The breakfast was some of the best in Scotland -- and such a gorgeous location with good walks and views of the viaduct! Beautiful in every way:)

The warmest of welcome awaits at Glenfinnan House Hotel. We stayed at the hotel to celebrate our 10th anniversary, an annual stay as we were married there. GHH has a very homely feel with a very warm atmosphere. It is a haven of tranquility due to the decor of the hotel, the attentiveness but inobtrusive staff (who are extremely well trained), location with the spacious lawn rolling down to the shore of Loch Shiel with tremendous view of The Glenfinnan Monument, surrounded by rolling hills and a view of Ben Nevis. Duncan makes the most delicious meals very well presented. The specials board is mouthwatering. Deserts are to die for. The rooms themselves are very spacious. Room 6 has a very comfortable 4 poster bed, a very comfortable large bathroom with spa bath and beautiful view of the loch and Monument. Manja, Duncan and Fiona add so much value to the hotel with their warm, friendly caring disposition which makes you feel a part of the GHH family. We keep coming back to the hotel because of this. Can't wait until we come back in October.

Totally unexpected, it was a very pleasant surprise. Our room (23) was very nice, very spacious and clean. The setup was absolutely sweet. The sleep quality was excellent and the breakfast was worth every cent. I definitely recommend to book the dinner at their restaurant as the quality is fantastic and the selection is supreme.

The Glenfinnan House Hotel is a gem in Glenfinnan and in the area. The view from the rooms giving onto the loch are fabulous. The rooms are spacious, clean, well decorated and with bathrooms containing all amenities necessary. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast is sumptuous and extremely filling !! Food is excellent and typically Scottish (with some Mediterranean twists!). Meals can be taken at the hotel restaurant or at the bar. I highly recommend this extremely charming hotel.

A marvellous place with everything just right. A very atmospheric Victorian country lodge vibe. Superb location right on the lochside, lovely staff, great local food, peace and quiet, lots of comfortable chairs to relax in. I would cheerfully have spent six months here and will be looking to book again next year.

We stayed here for one night in June. This is a lovely place to stay. It's on the banks of Loch Shiel with views across to the Glenfinnan Memorial. Our initial welcome was slightly off. As we walked in to reception the man said something like 'oh you're not meant to be able to get in like that. I need to go and lock the front door!' After that, he and the rest of the staff could not have been more helpful. We particularly enjoyed the banter with the waitress with a very humorous attitude. What sets this place apart though is the food. We ate dinner, breakfast and bar lunch there. All the meals were fabulous - the roast smoked salmon (done on the premises) is delicious. I found one or two of the doors sticky to touch. I'm not sure if that was the paint used or they needed a clean. We had one family room with a double and single and one king room - the latter had a great view, but small shower room. All the beds had footboards, which could be an issue if you're tall like out friend. He slept diagonally in the double. We were offered double rooms when we booked if we wanted to stay for a second night. We were glad we didn't take this up as we feel these would have been too small. Overall, we'd definitely stay again.

Was not able to stay here but the food and dining experience is divine. Im sure the hotel service would be equally as wonderful. Beautiful view and wonderful food with colleagues during the highland trip. Highly recommend food here for any traveller.

We haven't had the chance to go to have dinner here for 3 years. My husband and I went last night for our wedding anniversary and it certainly did not disappoint!! The food was excellent! The service friendly and efficient and the surroundings comfortable and welcoming. It's such a shame they are not working to full capacity for very valid reasons. Because this place is an absolute gem and highly recommended. You do need to book.

This is a great place where very friendly and happy peaple work! I had the greatest seafood chowder ever in my life! A place where you want to come again! I neuer stayed in such a romantic and caring hotel!
