Marbella Beach Hotel

Stayed in September, with amazing experience. Just from the start with the reception staff, all the staff are very welcoming and helpfull. The rooms are big with lots of space and facilities like coffee maker, mini fridge. The food in the restaurant huge selection for all the meals, we were in all inclusive package. The boys in the bar very nice. The beach few steps away from the hotel with lots of sunbeds. During the night they some parties by the pool. What we can say the hotel is value fir money.

I would rate this hotel more as a 3 star. We paid for the upgraded room, it wasn’t particularly clean, there was no mini-bar as advertised, and I don’t know it just lacked something. Upon arrival we were upgraded from B&B to breakfast and dinner which was a nice gesture. But the food was below average with a very strange selection – dry and bland to the point that we didn’t even bother going in for breakfast. (We did, however, find an amazing little bakery just a short walk down the road – turn left as you leave the hotel. They sold the biggest and most delicious filled croissants). The staff were friendly, but often looked at us as though we’d lost the plot. For example when we wanted a drink from the bar to have by the pool, they seemed shocked. And even asked if we knew we would have to pay for it? Sunbeds were impossible to secure either by the pool or on the so-called ‘private beach’. One morning I got up at 5.30 and wandered down – there were only six beds to choose from. There’s no point in paying extra for a “beach view” because you don’t actually get one. Instead, you’ll be looking out over the pool and the fairground rides, which sit between the hotel and the beach – a complete surprise to us, as it’s not something we expected. The “beach view” rooms are simply closer to the incredibly noisy neighbours. The hotel next door was unbelievably loud. In fact, all of Golem at night was noisy – the later it got, the louder it seemed to become. The party in the neighbouring hotel started around 9.30pm and went on until at least 2am. I have genuinely never heard noise like it I have no idea how we ever got to sleep. During the day, as the hotel is set back from the beach a little, it was fairly quiet. The hotel itself offered no evening entertainment during our stay. The beach was very crowded, and Golem in general felt extremely busy. Would we visit again? Probably not. Did we have a fantastic time despite this not-so-positive review? ABSOLUTELY!
